Welp, Any Advice?

#1 Post by Xanmyral »

So, yeah, how do I kill this guy? Any advice? First time I've ever seen anything like him before, much less here, and even less so at this level. I mean, holy crap why. I booked it outta there but now he and Bill are waiting for me there.

I'm half tempted to just never, ever go there again.

That warning about the "big bad troll" isn't to be taken lightly! It's usually best to leave Bill's treasure alone for a few levels and come back after clearing another zone or two. That being said, that patchwork troll is kinda ridiculous. You got real unlucky there. Just leave it alone for now and try again when you're a bit stronger.

I'm well aware of that, Bill being my #1 killer of characters so far, but I'm pretty sure I would of killed Bill given a few more turns of working on him. Messed up his skills with the Null rod, juggling him with blinds thanks to the infusion and flare, etc.

But that patchwork guy made me nope right outta there. Worst I've seen was Bill and the Hedge Troll together, but this is just something else. I mean, before this the largest level disparity I've had was having a level eight against a level twenty or so, alone.

This tops that. I think the game is getting back at me for getting two escort-given heave skill-ups in a row.

Never have seen patchwork troll there. Bad luck.
Well, you can always leave and come kill him later.

Honestly, by the time you have any real hope of killing the patchwork troll, the gems that Bill has won't be very interesting. Walk away, chalk it up to bad luck.

Bill's Lair has no OoD protection, largely to randomly troll the player as near as I can tell.

Seeing a Patchwork Troll there is hilariously bad luck(I've seen it once in something along the lines of 20 full clears). If you ever see that happen, run.

Its pretty funny really, but yeah I'm thinking if that happens again Imma just gonna forget that place exists. I say 'again' because Andri is dead, along with the next three to five guys after him dead. Such is the life of a rogue.

His successor, a dwarven bowman, is doing markedly better.
