Exploration mode penalties

I just wanted to ask if thare are any penalties for playing in exploration mode?
Can i unlock classes and races can i unlock the same achivemnets as roguelike and adventure mode or is this mode the same from a reword point of view?

And subconsciously thinking Death is cheap in this game. Which is annoying when you migrate to roguelike.

It's okay, if you migrate from Exploration directly to Roguelike, that's its own penalty. :)

I thought that certain unlocks which relied on achievements were -not- gained in Exploration Mode?

Marauder and Reaver come to mind.

They can't be unlocked in Easy mode, which doesn't have achievements.

As far as I'm aware, Exploration mode can still net you everything that a regular game can. I'm pretty sure that I unlocked the Paradox Mage using Exploration mode. It's just a nice way to go through the game without worrying about multiple deaths.
And it was such a good idea...
