So I've downloaded the latest version, patched it, and hit Play...
and I get a Windows popup:
"T-Engine4 Launcher has stopped working
Windows is checking for a solution to the problem..."
which shortly changes to:
"A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."
I've tried re-downloading it, with the same result. Currently I'm downloading 1.0.5, to verify whether the problem is specific to the new version(I haven't played ToME since it was still Troubles of Middle-Earth, so I've only just discovered it in its current incarnation).
Any thoughts on what the problem might be? I've posted this in Dumb Questions, rather then Bugs, in the hope that I'm missing something obvious.
Why won't it work?

Hmmm... I get this every so often, but redownloading usually does the trick. Try downloading the latest version (1.1.0 at the time of this writing) and see if that works. Also, you might try deleting not only your game folder, but also the one that it stashes in your Users folder too. Path goes something like C:\Users\[your name]\T-Engine.
And it was such a good idea...
Re: Why won't it work?
Got 1.0.5 working. I'll try patching from that and see if I can make 1.1.0 work too.
Patched to 1.1.0, broke it again. Back to 1.0.5 and it's working fine =P
Running t-engine meets with success - running t-engine-launcher does not. Upgrading to 1.1.0 somehow disables t-engine from working. Maybe that has something to do with it?

Have you tried running the game itself? Like opening up the game directly, not using the Launcher.

Moved to bugs, as that's where it belongs :)
Are you running it from a shortcut? And are your graphics drivers up to date?

Well, yeah, that's what I mean. Running t-engine works just fine, for 1.0.5.Xandor Tik'Roth wrote:Have you tried running the game itself? Like opening up the game directly, not using the Launcher.
Using the launcher and patching to 1.1.0 breaks both, so running it from the launcher gives the error message I described in the OP, and opening t-engine without the launcher doesn't do anything. That is, clicking the icon produces no result - it just seems to freeze, I guess? No error message or anything, just - nothing.
@Grey, I've run it from a shortcut and from the file location with the same result. As far as graphics drivers, I don't expect that's the problem - I can run games with much better graphics, and I encounter no graphical issues when running 1.0.5 from t-engine. Is there some reason out of date drivers would produce the error message I received, but otherwise run this and many other games just fine?
Re: Why won't it work?
This game runs OpenGL, up to date drivers don't always support it.
