Since I've been playing this game, I've found that I've never used the shortcuts for dialogue because the alphabet is usually all over the place. After playing (an unhealthy amount of ) FTL, I found I liked their system a lot. The way it's set up is most dialogs let you use the number keys for selections. I simply would like there to be a way to rebind the choices from a, b, c to 1, 2, 3, etc.
As an example: You just rescued a thief, you quickly mash 5 for piercing sight, and carry on your way.
Just presenting this to see if there's any interest.

Re: Rebindable Dialogue Shortcuts
Except that I was already mashing "2" to chase a bear, and accidentally selected the useless "Hack & Back" skill when the dialogue box came up. I use numpad for movement/waiting, I'm afraid there would be too many opportunities for accidentally making a dialogue choice.

I can see your point, but aren't numpad numbers and keyboard numbers seperate keybinds?
