I'm trying out a Draconian Striker right now -- picked Random, got Thunder, perfect fit (perhaps by accident?).

How do I get all of my Nullpack classes to have appropriate Draconian choices?

Think he has to adjust it on his end. He supposedly did something to make it offer specific forms for druid, but none yet available for the arcanum classes. (My elementalist would've been godly if I could've gotten earth for pumping phys damage... Lousy random gypped me.) Would certainly like to see this support more classes though.

Okay. I'll describe the classes, so it's easier for ajfluffy if he decides to support them. ;)

Ascetic (Mage) - magical staff-based melee monk, whose spells are mostly not attacks. High mobility (Conveyance), some problem-solvers (Meta, Temporal), and a new tree of melee attacks which work with staves.

Creep (Afflicted) - a stealthy afflicted Hate user, main damage types are Temporal, Mind and Darkness. This class has built-in ways to negate negative conditions, and a bit of mobility. It is themed towards turning into some kind of darkness / temporal Horror.

Striker (Rogue) - a stealthy magical Mana-based lighting user, which is highly mobile and centers around getting good Shadowstrike damage and rider debuffs from his otherwise low-ish damage effects. Main damage types are Lightning, Cold, and Darkness.

Heavy (Chronomancer) - basically a melee Temporal Warden, with a shield and a bag of teleports. No ranged attacks until you unlock an advanced tree at 10th level. Main damage is melee for a long time; damage is mostly physical with a bit of temporal, and more temporal later if you go into Time Travel or Speed Control.

Vector - a Corruption based class, so irrelevant since Draconians are forced to be non-evil :)

If he comes back and updates, I'd love to see him extend suppport to the Arcanum classpack, and offer Arcanists/Elementalists/Enchanters. (For that matter, I'd enjoy seeing support for Monk as well)

Elementalist could almost copy archmage, save that it doesn't get the arcane trees (either of them.) It does pick up a corrupted elements tree, as they infuse there magic with there own lifeforce (no enemies, no vim, no evil) to blight things up a bit, so if a blighted form got designed later, they could take that as well. I was crushed that I didn't get earth dragon on my draconian elementalist earth mage.

For that matter, I'd like to pre-lobby for support for Midnight's new celestial classes, in advance. They're still being worked on, but they already have enough info out that some decisions could be made.

They are only asking for the colours to match up, not asking for new colours. :P

I certainly wouldn't say "no" to a new color, but yeah: coordinating the existing colors would be great.

Maybe if the Draconian mod looked for some hidden, ignorable field in addon classes, then addon writers could do this work for him?

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this addon appears to be breaking the 'reassemble' talent.

Enemies with Reassemble at level 5 resurrect after dying, once. (Including skeleton-race players.) With this addon active, the resurrect word flies up over the enemy, but they don't come back, and just die as is. This applies to every enemy with resurrect at level 5, but has not yet been tested on human players with reassemble. (Blood of life still confirmed to work on human players)

This failed resurrect extends to all enemies with reassemble 5, including The Master.

I hope you can track down and fix this, somehow, since I dearly love this addon.

Dear fellow Draconians,

I bear grave news for as it seams ajfluffy has left us. His last forum login was in the beginning of August and I have tried to reach him via email 2 weeks ago to no avail. As the co-author (of sorts) of the addon my responsibility is to declare it officially "abandoned" until further notice.

But not everything is lost, if there is a brave soul around, adept in the mystic arts of Code, she is more than welcome to fork the addon and resurrect the Draconian race. I'm eager to provide more scaly visuals and the more or less detailed brainstorming archives that both of us had. So,

For the love of all that is both holy and unholy, I am *NOT* the right person for this.

Nonetheless, no one else has done this.

Here is a tweaked version of draconian, which fixes several bugs. It won't validate yet, but I don't even want to consider a formal release before .5, since talent and pool related stuff has been changing, and this may need further work.

Put blunty, this is crap work, to fix some problems, and god knows I might've made more.

Brief summary of changes follow:

Code: Select all

- Cursed now has dragon types.
- Adventurer now has defined dragon types, specifically, ALL of them.
     (Dialog options were added to facilitate this.)
- Dialog options for 'higher' dragon types were added. Certain classes can now choose these directly as a result. (this may not stay.) These classes already HAD access to these dragon types, through the random selection, at above-average rates, so this isn't really anything new. Random remains, and some types are still available only through this.
- The bug preventing enemies from resurrecting (the master, anything with reassemble 5, etc.) has been fixed. Special thanks to DoctorNull and Umbrall for this one.
- This also fixed the bug preventing the lost wife dream in the Noxious Caldera from properly functioning.
- The defined damage type 'silver' has been added onto silver roar. I'm not sure if this was originally intended, but while the damage type had been made, no ability had yet used it. (This may not stay.)
- Typos in the lighting body description were fixed.
- Typos in the corrosive breath description were fixed.
- A bug in corrosive breath was fixed, so that it no longer pops a lua error on use.
I don't specifically recall anything else I changed, though nothing else major would have been done.

If any further bugs occur with this, please, post here.

A possible issue relates to certain dragon talents not granting a resource meter. This should be fixed in .5, based on my current knowledge. Additionally, silver body and silver roar currently lack talent icons. I either need to learn how to reskin some, or have some kind artist donate some.

Special thanks also goes to Rexorcorum for sending me some of his notes with Ajfluffy. I hope AjFluffy can return and take this back, as I am clearly not the right person to do this, and his vision is undoubtedly, not the same as mine, much as I'm trying to remain true to it.

I'd be up for doing some work on the mod. I may not be a lua guru, but I am going to school for computer programming and I know a fair bit of python, shouldn't be that hard to learn the language.

It's great that the draconians are receiving so much love lately. Ping me when there is need for some visual support (though for such hybris most probably I'll be devoured alive by a certain stygian divinity).

And please, someone really has to do something with the hilarious lore dialogs... :)

Updated. Finally got it to correctly support all the classes from the following addons: Arcanum Classpack, Druid, and Midnight.

Thanks HousePet, for helping to pick what forms would most suit without overbalancing the classes.

Also adds choices for the archer class.

Draconian 9b2 take 2

If you downloaded this in the first 20-30 minutes, replace it. A derpy typo on my part took a certain type out of archers selection list. Shouldn't be much of an issue either way, it just had a lower rarity before.

Explain what you mean about the lore dialogs?

(Also, you only said the first part because you wanted an excuse to use the word Stygian, admit it.)
