Basic tutorial bug?

I just got into ToME, trying for the 2nd time, but both the first time and this one, when I come to the part of the tutorial about ranged weapons, the dialog box tells me that I now have a bow, but I don't. It's not in my inventory, nor can I see it anywhere near, what am I missing here?

Might be in your quick switch weapon slot. In which case, press q while outside the inventory to quick swap.

Another option is the filter is filtering it out.

Or maybe it isn't giving you the bow.

You can skip the tutorials. The second one is sort of interesting, but makes more sense after you have played the game a bit.
