The most underwhelming loot

#1 Post by Robsoie »

Something i never thought about previously was to use a character i just won with and go challenge Linaniil , the supreme archimage of Angolwen.

If you have ever read the Spellblaze Chronicles lore in Elvala's shops, you certainly imagined that such a powerfull archimage that went into those incredible places must have a collection of amazing items.

With my Halfling Rogue that just won, i decided to challenge her by using a Giant Leap on her face, as an introduction this prodigy has server my character very well.

Looks like i was lucky , her resistance weren't that good, and she had less health than those sorcerers in the Sanctum, so it shouldn't be that hard.

But the battle wasn't as easy as i imagined, while her resistance and health were lesser, Linaniil had some rather powerfull spell and was dealing much more damage to me than the Sanctum sorcerers did in the last battle

I had to get away a few times despite my high damage outpout, i couldn't take the risk when there was a double meteor landing on my character and my health dropping a lot, because Evasion (from the Halfling racial ability when he lost 10% of health) despite being at 102% (luck day prodigy) proved during that whole run to be completely unreliable, sometime it worked , but sometime enemies attack was hitting despite i was in that 102% Evasion mode.

But finally the battle reached a positive conclusion, for my Halfling at least.

Victory ! Now time to check what amazing items Linaniil had left behind

1 tier 3 item
4 tier 2 items

...

...

What a massive disapointement and underwhelming conclusion.

Clearly you're intended to kill her right after clearing the T2 dungeons. ;)
Check out my addons: Nullpack (classes), Null Tweaks (items & talents), and New Gems fork.

It must be a great way to experience an insta kill on a character, or a 2-hits kill if the supposed instakilling immunity actually works ;)

Today I killed one of the Slime Tunnels randbosses and it dropped the Eel-Skin Armour.

Dunno how ToME 4 acts, but I remember in ToME 2 that the dungeon level affected the loot. Dragons who normally appear on level 30ish could be found on certain world map squares in which their lit table must have been changed according to the danger level of the map since the loot was mainly just bad.

Haven't really observed if for example a Worm that walks gives the same quality loot in alt maze as he does in Dreadfell.

I've found salmon rares with no properties except being powered by antimagic.

What the f Atarlost? I remember you from tome.net forums from the start of the century, so hiya. What I was wondering though is your joined date. Can you use the old forum logins here or what's that?

Oh yeah! There actually are the old logins still. Should have checked the members list before registering new account.

And if for some reason you can't remember your password, just let me know and I can reset it for you.
And it was such a good idea...

Thanks, but I've been on this for a month or two already. :)
Funny thing is my passwords always vary less than my login names.
