The Great and Powerful Mindslaying, Dual Staving, Rampager

#1 Post by StarKeep »

As you may, or may not know, every step you take causes your Mindslot weapon to take an attack, outside of movement infusions.

So, combine this with the Arcane Combat tree, the Cursed Rampage tree, and the Absorption tree, you gain a weapon that can proc a spell 4 times a turn, powerful 500+ shields covering you, and the ability to traverse the entire battlefield at incredible speeds.

You can than also toss on the second talent from the Staff Mastery tree, as the mindslot staves do use Magic to determine their damage, meaning you gain all-powerful dual-staving, spell proccing, shielding power.

If you want to overkill it even more, you take the Cursed Generic tree, for 75% Resists to Stuns.
Alternatively, you can take Shield Discipline, to only have a 50% downtime on your defensive power.

And if you want to nail the coffin into the dead tree, as it is, you take Shalore to maximize the Rampage and Shield durations.

Good lord, that's nuts. What would the stat priority be, besides Magic for the staves' damage?

Well, theres the safe but slow building way, or the 'lets be more insane and take no constitution' way.

The safe way, is One Strength, one Willpower, and One Constiution each level, until you get all your Mindslayer shields up to Talent level 2, or 3, depending on how safe you feel them, than switching over to Magic. The Shalore's innate low strength, and moderate base Magic, should be enough to hold your damage over with spell procs, though you may be inclined to trade some willpower for magic early on, if you feel your damage is lacking.

The 'lets be more insane way' is One Strength, One Willpower, and One Magic each level, and hoping your Mindslayer shields will hold you over with smart defensive in and outs.

In either build, you'll be able to move Strength points to Constitution or Magic respectfully, so long as you feel you have a good amount for equipment requirements.

Be sure to set both your staves to your respective spell element's damage. As you cannot use command staff on a mindslot staff, you will have to remove it and manually equip it to do so.

Add the grave tree for vampiric gift (you heal yourself while rampaging) and the best source of armor is actually the chronomancy talent that lets you siphon half the damage to another creature (particularly in the infinite dungeon) thought unstoppable is quite nice as well.

I am running,
explosive admixtures
psi fighting
grave
rampage
anti magic
the spatial chronomancy
sand wildgift
both equipment generics (psi and alchemist)
the two good shadow trees

on my munchkin.
