Oh, and, also, the 'mages' answer to manaclash? Kill them with fire, lots and lots of fire.

Eyup. Manaclash is annoying for non-paradox arcane chars (unless you're a disruption shield archmage with the shield up and near full mana, then it's beneficial), but it's not nearly as bad as getting silenced as a mage. Its also weak vs alchemists, cause it won't stop the golem from beating on the am user and and running alchemists out of mana is near impossible.

Does mana clash drain mana first or deal damage first? Because if it deals damage before it drains mana, then it might pop your disruption shield and then lower your mana. - From the way you talk, I take it this is not the case. I've never been mana-clashed while my shield was up.

Sirrocco, I like the idea of a blight-based aura, but letting it fill your vim could completely unbalance vim-based classes, thus making it overpoweringly specialized for them. Also, since it's a sustain you're suggesting, it doesn't need your vim to be replenished to continue to be useful, so non-vim classes don't need the vim increase. I'm also a little iffy about the damage-to-self, but that's thematically fitting and a potential tool for balance.
