This guide was helpful: http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=57&t=35410 I followed the guide, maxing mag, con then cun.
The first character was massacred in the east by Worm that walks. Exactly as the guide warned about... I stole some goods from that char - especially the tool giving +5 vim for each critical.
This second character claimed vengeance and killed the stupid walking worm. Blight penetration and resistance lowering made it possible. A helpful amulet gave 25% blight penetration.
I second that Virulent Disease is a free/cheap instant nice spell.
I hardly ever used Shadowflame - I did all killing with "normal tactics". (I know I missed out on special Fearscape style killing - but never felt I needed it.)
Skeleton was good - sure I missed the infusions but that 10 turn shield is so good. Most fights were over in 3-5 turns. And I had 2 extra shields if needed. Tactics was simple; auto-shield, auto Virulent, spam with the basic damage spells. When needed throw a Pacification hex. If boss got high resistance Curse vuln. & Vimsense.
The most fun with Corruptor: so many choices & combinations to inflict damage.
I relied on lowered spell cool downs - were never out of an offensive spell. Never out of vim. (prod. Eye of the Tiger)
After lvl. 40+ it was all gravy. So fun to blast hex, Corr neg. and then a blood spray to wipe a room almost clear. Even more fun after investing some in Overkill (love splash damage in vaults!)

5 deaths on the way - sure. Special situations, unable to escape etc. Final fight was a challenge, 1 death. Then got the hang of it with curses & hex & corr. neg. & damage & blood grasp.
70% res to elements - I never had that high I think.
Again - thanks for a great game.
I hope to take a break and get out in the sun now.. but I'll be back. A vault stashed with loot is tempting for new characters. More combos to try out!
