Reload + autouse.

#1 Post by Crim, The Red Thunder »

I tend to forget to reload after fights. So I think to myself, I can auto it when no enemies in view, and that'll fix the problem. It does.

But then I have to listen to a constant litany of 'your quiver is full' EVERY DAMN TURN.

Can we PLEASE make reload smart enough to not autouse itself when quiver is full?

Thank you.

If you rest than your quiver reloads along with everything else resting does. Most people have the habit to rest between each fight which is why this isn't an issue for most.

I sort of notice this as an issue on my Temporal Warden, since apparently the Quiver doesn't reload when I am swapped over to my Melee Weapons and then decide to rest up and then come time I swap back I find my Quiver empty.
Its amazing what the mind can come up with, but it shows talent to make something of it. - Davion Fuxa

I haven't used it but here's an add-on for more through resting.

Is this really a habit for most?

Why not push the "full strength please" button? Except for the few places with time pressure. I do wish there was more time pressure in the game to be honest.

Not for me. I tend to let myself heal up naturally over time as I explore, instead of resting BEFORE exploring, at least if the wounds are minor. There are exceptions, but that's the norm. The people that IS the norm for are the ones who hit 'autoexplore' after every fight, and I don't like using the autoexplore until after the level is at least half explored. I prefer having some control over where I'm moving and what I'm doing.

Why not just make reload unavailable when your quiver is full.

That is actually a really good idea.

I would also really like if the wait action auto used reload when your quiver is empty. (when you push 5 on the numpad)

Tedium. Some of us have a different tolerance for it than others. Using rest requires you to wait before you can do anything interesting again, and I'd probably lose interest if I had to constantly do that. (It's the same reason I can't stand playing turn-based games with non-skippable lengthy attack animations.) I mostly use rest when necessary rather than a matter of habit.

Thematics for me.

Hence why I don't use rest. The pressure isn't programming into the game, so I add it artificially in my play-style.

I don't care if it's reloading when the quiver is full. Is there a way, though, to selectively block that message from appearing in the chat window?

Preventing it from reloading when full is probably the best way to stop that message from showing up. And, no, there's not a way to selectively filter it out.
