Might want to cap the range at 10. A beam with a range longer than that, and that also goes through walls, is kind of nasty.

EDIT: Oh, and Mudslide can go over 10 as well...

Breaths being capped at 10 would be nice, too, while we're capping the range on things.

40+ range Nightmare breaths is getting a little old. :( Throw Bomb would be nice to have a cap on, too.

I'd prefer to see more site range extending equipment and more talents with extended attack range instead. And yes, list some more good stuff for Highers, please :) With those 2 there are only 6 attacks I know about, that may profit from extended site range (other 4 being Virulent Disease, Shadowstep, alchemy bombs and IIRC some Gravity tree stuff).

PS With this said, over-the-wall-out-of-site-range Pulverizing Auger is indeed a bit OP. It would be good to see it's damage output reduced to some degree after it passes the wall somewhere during attack.

The highest your Higher can get is range 10 with 5/5 and a cat point. Well I guess you could put in two cat points and/or wear some mastery granting stuff.

On reflection, what was really deadly on the stair guardian that inspired this post was Disperse Magic shutting down all my spells and the ever-lovely Impending Doom.

I actually sort of like the 40+ range on breaths on higher difficulties. It puts pressure on you to locate and eliminate the source of the breath, while also being wary of what's in your face. Same with Doomed shadows that start pegging you long before you see their owner. Maybe just cap range for Normal difficulty or something?

No, you can't add more than one cat point to any particular tree.
