Re: Dumb questions thread
Q: My golem knows the "Premonition"-spell (sustainable: -120 mana) and he keeps casting it so he dont have any mana for his uber eye beam, how can I disable him to cast that spell all the time when Im not controlling him?

Re: Dumb questions thread
So my alchemist died, How do I resummon my golem if I die?
I have casted refit golem and it is nowhere in sight, also tried invoke golem too. If I try to refit golem again it will just have options of changing names etc.
Do I have to resummon him on the same floor that I died in?

Are you still on 1.0.1? If so, you are doomed. Just get 1.0.3 and start new char.mojoiskewl wrote:So my alchemist died, How do I resummon my golem if I die?

Re: Dumb questions thread
IIRC, right click on your golem while controlling your main character. There should be an option like "set talent weights" or something like that. go to Premonition, and set it to 0.Orgott wrote:Q: My golem knows the "Premonition"-spell (sustainable: -120 mana) and he keeps casting it so he dont have any mana for his uber eye beam, how can I disable him to cast that spell all the time when Im not controlling him?
Re: Dumb questions thread
I would love to know the answer to this. Also does it benefit from other extra damage talents (wilful combat for example)AlexanderR wrote:Does Shadow Veil profit from boosting Global/Attack speed?
Re: Dumb questions thread
Shadow Veil used to disproportionately benefit from global speed, which is to say that you would do a Shadow Veil attack every "global" turn and, if you got a second action between those turns, you could actually control it.
Since the fix, though, I haven't tried one, but I think the behavior now is that it just takes actions faster instead. So it still benefits, just doesn't become insanely good. I don't know if it benefits from Attack Speed, though.
And yes, of course it benefits from damage boosts. It uses the same basic mechanics as any other physical technique for calculating damage, so...yeah, if it works with, say, Flurry, it'll work with Shadow Veil. (well, okay, Shadow Veil's a different element, but you know what I mean.)

Re: Dumb questions thread
Shadow veil does benefit from both global and attack speed. Without going into the detailed game mechanics, on each of your turns, your character will attack until it can't any more (depends on your attack speed). Your global speed will give you turns more often. You get the same number of melee attacks you would get normally, but the attacks tend to come in bursts if you have high attack speed.

How do you increase your positive/negative energy maximums for sun palarithils?
I notice it goes up a bit whenever I level, but I've been unsuccessful tying it to any particular stat growth.

Re: Dumb questions thread
It will only raise with level and some kit parameters will increase it. Which is mostly fine for sun paladins as most of their good stuff doesn't directly cost pos energy.

Gravity is one of the four fundamental forces, along side electromagnetism and the strong and weak nuclear forces. Of these, gravity is by far the weakest; however, it is very good at acting over long ranges, and therefore is significant when studying macroscopic objects. Thus, gravity would like to smash all the atoms in your body into an indistinguishable lump, but the force of the electrons repelling each other is more than thirty orders of magnitude greater than the force of gravity, so gravity's impact is negligible.Camcolit wrote:If gravity pulls stuff together, how come everything isn't in one big lump?
(Incidentally, the electomagnetic force would like to rip your atoms apart and fuse each proton to an electron instead of dealing with that incestuous glomming together of protons that is the nucleus, but the strong nuclear force is even stronger than electromagnetism at that distance, so electromagnetism can only rage impotently and distract itself by forming chemical bonds).

Re: Dumb questions thread
I just came back to this game after donating and unlocking exploration mode. Its much more fun than Dredmor as I like the cool fact that you can build your char almost any way-like Eschalon series, heh. So I was going to ask this stupid question-
1-Do rogues have to use daggers or can they use a short sword or what not. I want to make a longsword or single weapon rogue, are they possible or should I avoid it?
2-If I do use a rogue (either way), is it possible to place 1 strength and 2 cunning every lvl? I really want to make a strength based critical hit rogue for some reason. Hopefully its possible although I don't know what that will get me other than physical save/what not.
I really wanted to try that strength/cunning rogue as it seems interesting. What would physical power get me for a rogue that I wouldn't normally get?
