1.03 - no mouse cursor and image too large for screen

#1 Post by prsmith »

Note: I had mistakenly placed this in the T-engine area

Hi,

I decided to start from scratch

I removed the Tome program and app folders from my Vista (with latest updates) desktop

When I start from the game launcher I have no mouse cursor and the opening image is way too large for the screen

I had run into the size problem in the past (b32) and as suggested on the forum I created a file (foo_active.config) containing fbo_active = false and placed it in the Settings folder. It did not work this time.

Prior to 1.03 there were no recent size or mouse issues

Help please,

Thanks,
Preston

Try using the old exe/dll files from 1.0.2 into 1.0.3

Ok - I replaced the .exe and .dll files in 1.0.3 with those from 1.02

No change - first intro screen loads with proper size then the first menu screen comes up oversized - still no mouse curser

Hope this help,
Preston

Good morning,

No problem - I often say one thing while meaning another

I moved the *.exe and *.dll from 1.01 to my 1.03 folder and ran the *.exe file

The initial screen came up and looked OK but the first menu screen came up larger than the needed screen size - this time the background was totally white. Again, the mouse curser did not show.

I then installed the fbo_active.cfg file and the intro and menu screens showed up OK - still no mouse

Now that I could use the menu screen, I disabled the mouse option in the video category. I could not see the mouse but as I moved around the screen I noticed that the mouse was moving about but I could not see it

Next I re-installed the 1.03 .exe and .dll files along with the fbo_active.cfg - the screens displayed correctly with no curser. By the way the curser is visible in all other programs and on the desktop

Progress - of sorts

I re-installed 1.03 again after removing all of the directories on my drive

I then placed the fbo_active .cfg file in the setting sub directory

Now all screens render to the correct screen size

BUT where is the cursor gone? It is absent with the cursor setting in video options at enabled. If I changing the setting to disbaled (use the Windows cursor) the cursor does not show up. If I then exit the game and restart it the windows cursor appears but there is no sign of the custom game cursor

Strange stuff but at least I now have a correct size screen and a cursor

Thanks for your helped

Preston
