well ... problem is two-fold
1. Stone Wardens doesn't appear to have any natural mana regeneration
2. Stoneshield doesn't appear to give me mana.
Leaving me dependent on Stone Vine ticks to Mana regen, and veering off activated mana-using abilities, which means not expanding in the assorted spell trees they have

Re: Stone Warden - Mana Regeneration
The skill you're looking for here is Eldritch Stone, which builds up a large amount of Equilibrium, then dumps the value into Mana at the end of the effect.
This usually amounts to a full restore of Mana. If you're heavily using mana, though, a Manasurge rune isn't a bad idea-this grants you mana regeneration while resting. Regardless, non-Mage classes have no natural mana regen, so that's not a bug, but an intended element of the class; Arcane Blades are similar.
(Are you sure Stoneshield isn't granting mana, though? It was as of when I cleared one in 1.0, and the amounts are so small that it's hard to rely on until lategame anyways. I certainly questioned if I was getting any from it early.)

Re: Stone Warden - Mana Regeneration
The class can be tedious without a manasurge rune, especially if you're not taking much damage. I do think that the game would be better off providing all classes with minimal positive natural regeneration, largely to make resting between fights less laborious. The real balance issue is resource management during conflict, not between.
