Is it possible to not show keys commands in action bar?

#1 Post by Niegy »

I play almost only with the mouse, well, not fully it's not possible but almost only with the mouse. So the action bar is my main tool and I find the icons pretty intuitive and quick to learn when there's new actions. But as there's more actions, the keys commands become awfully big ([C]8) and lowdown a lot the icons visibility.

So I wonder if there's an option to hide this text on the icons?

Well to lowdown the problem I removed the shortcuts in the key binding panel so now only a -- is shown. This isn't cool looking but it doesn't hide much the action icon and that was the purpose. Still an option to not show them would be cool.

EDIT: Hu I could even bind the same key to all so bind . to hide it as much than possible! :D

BTW what do you find impossible to do with only the mouse ?
[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

Good question :) I like right click upon a target and select the action, but it's a bit slow and I don't like much how the menu hide the target and I can't be sure it's red or not, so I use it but few time. Instead I prefer click on the skill but that's also because I have the target in mind already and the skill choice lead me to the action bar. Anyway then I face two problems when it's a skill requiring a target:
- When it's in waiting the selection i just can't move the mouse because it's very very slow in this mode, and when I mean slow it's even slower. So then I need use the keyboard to select the target.
- When the right target is already selected which is the most frequent, I need validate it and I search and couldn't find how bind validate to something else than Return, for example I could use my mouse third or fourth button. So I need use the keyboard to validate.

Also if I hadn't the first problem if the game auto select the closest target the mouse cursor should follows this selection and not stay at action bar.

Other than that I don't think I use at all the keyboard but that two points means I constantly use it anyway even if it's few keys.

Entering a character name with a mouse is too hard. :shock:

Ha! Typical DOS user answer. Modern Mac users use a tool to generate a character name, for example for RPG:
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20010208b

Then right click, copy, click on game window and paste, well ok in the game Ctrl-V, in fact not even Command-V that should work to paste but not in this game.

Yeah yeah it's a poor joke. :)

It does? Awesome!

I always use the random button anyway.

Ha ha not at all! Thanks for the info, going closer to zero keyboard usage. :-)

I just bought an Elitapad 900 slate and was trying to map a the auto-explore key to the action bar. Is this possible?

Thanks darkgod, for an excellent game!

hey guys, don't forget about mouse shortcuts! in the key bindings menu, the column on the far right is for mouse shortcuts (hold the right mouse button and do a mouse stroke).

D = down
U = up
L = left
R = right

i bind the first 8 talents to shortcuts, kind of similar to street fighter special moves -> DR, LDR, UR, LUR --- DL, RDL, UL, RUL

for infusions / runes, i like to use L and R for my best ones and variations like LU or RD for any others. I like to center these on the talent bar for ease of access

for picking up things - D
to go up/down stairs - U
to rest - LRL (shake it off)

LURDL (left full circle) = main menu
RULDR (right full circle) = ?

middle mouse = autoexplore & rest

others that i'm forgetting.

I literally never have to touch the keyboard when playing :)
