[1.0.1] Stone Dorf Archmage - Nightmare Roguelike Winner

My 1st nightmare win! And my 2nd win in a row. I won with a geomancer several betas ago, so I wanted to try out the new and improved earth/stone talents.

Early game: Easy. It feels like normal mode with harder rares.

Mid game: Easy. I nearly got instant-killed by an orc assassin in Reknor, while auto-exploring. Aside from that, nothing proved much of a threat. That incident caused me to get cauterize.

End game: Hard. The east is significantly harder than the west - everyone is a minimum of level 50, melee enemies can rush all day, all casters hit like corruptors, and summons hit like freight trains. Seriously, summons are ridiculous on nightmare.

Once I started getting better gear the difficulty went right back to being easy. I had the blood of life, cauterize, stone wall, and the potion of invulnerability, so I felt pretty safe. I had high saves, providence, relentless pursuit, and draconian will, so I didn't have to worry about status effects either.

My geomancer basically became a corruptor without any of the weaknesses (mobility and defenses) by the end. Every attack dealt 1200-1800 damage, even against the final bosses.

I was dreading the final fight, but it was extremely easy. I didn't lose any HP. I immediately rushed off to close all the portals, but a group of drakes spawned. The bosses got distracted by them. Elandar was my 1st target, because his Freeze spell deals 1750 damage(!). The reaver stopped ignoring me 1 turn before his death.

Edit: Killed Atamathon and Linaniil.

Atamathon isn't much different on nightmare. His attacks deal 2400-2800 damage. Linaniil gets a major upgrade: meteoric crash has 0 cooldown, and draconian body has a much shorter cooldown. Fighting them was fun.

Congratulations! Did you find that your high saves were useful in the endgame, or did too many powerful enemies penetrate them?

Having high saves was very useful. I shrugged off the majority of status effects. I only got draconian will to deal with spell feedback, since it ignores my saves. Getting providence was overkill.

Why would you use Stone Skin, as your armor is still not that high, and it uses 30 Mana?

No reason. I already cleared everything, so I was messing around.
