How do you get skills to level 6?
I have seen so many skills has improvement when upgrade from level 5 to level 6 now, but how?

Re: How do you get skills to level 6?
Be in the Infinite Dungeon, or be an enemy.
There's no other way.
Edit: Though, that's raw level. Some skills list a "level 6" bonus that is checking modified talent.
If you look at your talent category, you may see a number ranging from 0.8 to 1.3. That's the category modifier. It effectively means that each level you put into a skill in that category is(...usually) equivalent to 0.8 to 1.3 levels in it.
So, say, if you're looking at a Level 6 bonus like Lichform's, what that means is that it wants you to be L5 in the Lichform skill and have at least 1.2 category for Necrosis.

You can use category points to upgrade your skill trees.jianye wrote:I have seen so many skills has improvement when upgrade from level 5 to level 6 now, but how?

But that's usually a waste of category points. I think it's better to unlock 1 or 2 new categories and spend the rest on new infusion/rune slots.
Re: How do you get skills to level 6?
It's a good idea to check what a category point will do for you in any given skill tree you've heavily invested into (put it in, then take it out again, without leaving the level-up screen). For example, Doomed get an extra shadow when they invest a category point in the Shadows tree, which effectively increases the tree's power by a third.Dragatus wrote:But that's usually a waste of category points. Re: How do you get skills to level 6?
just depends on your race / class / build.
Doomed for example get HUGE benefits for dropping a cat point into Shadows.

OK then. I've never played a Doomed yet.

Personally, I'd like to see Lichform get a super-powerful benefit at level 7, which requires sinking a category point into the tree (or finding an item of mastery, I suppose). I think it would be interesting to give a benefit for the massive investment.

Hmmmm... Special archlich prodigy or something maybe? Or qualify for an 'auto-resurrect' once, like reassemble would grant? (To offer you an extra life out of it? That might be worth a cat point...)
Hell, give a prodigy point for it. That's worth a cat point, but finicky enough that while specific builds could get some use out of it, plenty could easily make due without it, dumping the cat point elsewhere for better use.

It depends. If you have a tree with lots of high level talents (level 3 or higher), its generally worth it to put a category point in there.Dragatus wrote:But that's usually a waste of category points. I think it's better to unlock 1 or 2 new categories and spend the rest on new infusion/rune slots.
