I can't find my Golem
New player here,
My golem is alive, but I can't seem to find it. Usually it is by my side when I enter a dungeon. Now, I'm alone. Any ideas on how to recover it?

Thanks,

Re: I can't find my Golem
Possibly it died? Try using refit golem to respawn it (make sure you have enough alchemist gems.), if that doesn't work, because it is somehow lost elsewhere in the level (can't see how), try learning and using the talent that calls the golem to your side. If neither of those accomplish it, I'm stumped, and you probably have a bug.

Me too.
I have already reported it in bugs forum.
[1.0.1] Alchemist's golem vanished
http://forums.te4.org/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=37211
Possibly only Shalore Alchemists may happen.

Re: I can't find my Golem
It will probably pop back when you leave the level. Even lost golems follow you to new areas. If it is bug this is the best way to find it. I assume you are still low level and do not have invoke golem.
BTW shalore make really bad alchemists while thalore make really really good ones. That is kinda a spoiler though. This extends even past the starting area, though that has got to be painful enough. If you are going to stick with shalore my advice is really just to leave the area you start in and go do the human and thalore starting areas instead.

I'm not sure what you mean by different areas, since I am new. I have gone to a town and 3 different dungeons, but my golem hasn't shown up.skein wrote:It will probably pop back when you leave the level. Even lost golems follow you to new areas. Re: I can't find my Golem
If your golem really is alive, you might have to use Invoke Golem to get it to reappear.
My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.
Re: I can't find my Golem
Golems are never seen on the wilderness board, this could be the cause of you thinking it is lost, your icon on the wilderness board (when you can see the towns and dungeons) represents your whole party, both you and your golem.
It is also possible it is just dead, in which case a use of refit golem (while in a dungeon only) will recreate it with some minor amount of life. It is very easy to get your golem dead in the crystal caverns, many of the monsters there (the crystals) have very nasty ranged attacks. If you did not know to leash your golem close it will go off chasing them to its death. On the bright side it is easy to recreate.
Make sure that refit golem is on your skill bar (btw page up and page down flips which bar you are looking at, there are 5 you can use).
The human starting area contains 2 more starter dungeons and is north of the crystal caverns several screens. If you see red people wandering around avoid them at all costs. You want the right side of the mountain chain (not the left with the desert). You will pass one second tier dungeon before you get to the starting human city (bree) and 2 more dungeons. The 2nd tier dungeon is the old forest and should probably be avoided.
If you want to see were the thalore start just play one

Re: I can't find my Golem
Human town is Derth, not Bree. That went the way of the dodo when Middle-earth died. (And shall remain dead, until Zizzo can resurrect it. *prays*)
If you're talking about the trollmire and korpul dungeons, follow the forest treeline EAST from trollmire, and you can find a small almost-hidden zigzag that leads up to Elvala and the thaloren dungeons (Norgos lair and Heart of the gloom.)

Re: I can't find my Golem
I can help! Even though I'm new to ToME I've figured out how to get your Golem back... sort of.
The only way I've found to recreate your Golem after it's bugged, is when you die. When you die you are floating in the "Astral" area with that being. BEFORE YOU LEAVE you can respawn your golem. If you forget, it's still bugged.
If you respawn the golem in the astral area, it will be unbugged. If it gets bugged again (and it probably will) you will need to die again to "unbug" it.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the information. I think I'll wait on this character until the bug is fixed.I can help! Even though I'm new to ToME I've figured out how to get your Golem back... sort of.

Re: I can't find my Golem
I can confirm that this bug still persists as of 5/8/13. This is my first alchemist - died, didn't refit golem before leaving the plane, and bugged.
