If my making that comment made you try Yeek Archmage, I'm still glad I made it. :D

I am being gradually convinced here that it's a better combo than I thought, but until I see a total newbie, instead of someone with tons of experience, clearing it, I'm still thinking it's an experienced player thing at best.

Does kinda prove (to me anyways) something I think I've mentioned before. Archmage is absolutely amazing in the hands of the experienced player, no matter what the combination, and even with most builds. If you're caught flatfooted, your answers are rather poor, but if you know all the elements in a situation, it's really, really good.

I haven't cleared it yet because I keep running into run-ending bugs. But I've cleared all of the Prides with plenty of lives left multiple times with a yeek archmage and am sure I'll eventually clear it :)

SageAcrin, why do you only advocate taking 1 flameshock if you are doing fire?

Ok, my first winning character and it's a Yeek Archmage: http://te4.org/characters/3476/tome/eda ... 45419ee54f

Didn't even use anything out of the items vault.

I don't. Not sure how you get that one.

You can, and no matter what, almost any build should probably take a level, unless you're specifically challenging yourself to run within certain builds.

But it's good if you go for 1 or 5. There's just very little reason not to go for at least one level, and Fire heavy builds have very little reason not to 5 it.

You might be misunderstanding me saying that you should always go heavily for Flameshock if you're going for Fire builds?

Grrr. Yeek mages exist, sort of.

I thought a yeek archmage would be great for the ID, they'll get well more than three levels for two of a skeleton - start chain-electrocuting stuff much earlier, and boost generics. Taking ID characters via the main campaign has some big benefits, so away we go, the quicker gain/levelling of talents seems to outweigh the fragility (prioritized CON at the start, only enough MAG and WIL as vital) - nine happy escorts, killed the wizards with still no lives away - and then ...

... and then nothing, rien, nada - didn't know about the yeek ending. Grrr.
