All right, those twats were reason of two of my last Doomed deaths, and I was wondering why they were just not dying (yes, I know they take Psi damage first etc.). When my current char encountered another one (actually two, fml) in vault, I made mad dash behind wall, saved, and basically savescummed and used Track to spy on those bastards (normally I would just straight up run stairs and not looked back ever). And what seemed odd that my shadows never seemed to target them. Even under attack, they never seem to attack them back, unless specifically told to via Focus Shadows. Which I had to cast through walls with help of Track, since otherwise I would get Dreamscaped, which I don't think is survivable by any means (in normal plane it already can place 100dmg/tick dot that strips sustains, his Dreamscape boosts his damage to over double of that...).
This weird AI behavior could be made by fact that their Solipicism level on Nightmare makes all 100% damage transfer to Psi, therefore not even scratching them before the pool is empty, and making shadows ignore them, similar how Wilder summons won't use elemental attacks to enemies immune to them. They died quite quickly otherwise after I focused shadows on them.
Again, I had very limited ability to test them, since, you know, they can kill you nearly instantly, maybe I'm wrong. But if that is the case, something should be fixed about it, Doomed only way to dealing with them is shadows since every single of their skills would put them in range of Dreamscape aka death, and you shouldn't be required to have vision through walls to kill them.

Shadows have their own unique AI. I believe they won't actually target anyone that's outside your LoS (though they'll still attack foes they're already targeting).
EDIT: Good Gerlyk, you've lost how many characters to Dreaming Horrors?! You haven't desecrated any ancient burial grounds lately, have you?

Re: Doomed Shadows vs Dreaming Horror
I'm nearly sure they were teleporting to closed rooms and stuff died. Could it be collateral damage? This sort of don't make sense if they don't fight, they screwed one of my chars Yeek fight by starting it before I opened door and generally pointlessly wake up enemy AI :/. Oh, and shadows from my clone fight alter-ego didn't had smallest problem blindsiding me through pillar w/o any los.
I don't have luck to those Horrors, just got another on this char, I just lack any tools to deal with them save for blindly casting spells through walls (for some reason you can target and cast not seeing your foe in case of Agony and Whisper). And that is purely cheesy.

I think they check things like, say, Dimension Step does, though I'm not certain.
That is, you don't have to be able to see the area, but it has to be within a radius where you could see the area. As opposed to straight through a wall.
