Known issue with online profiles when offline is frequent lag when it constantly tries to reconnect; there are valid reasons to not have an online account; sadly.
Currently playing under the name Aura of the Dawn 4 down, 227 to go!

That's...dumb. Why can't you just tell the game, "I want to play offline for now, STOP TRYING TO CONNECT ARGH".

If it causes lag, fine, that's a valid reason, I'll just deal with it and play with an offline profile for now. Hopefully ToME gets a bugfix update soon then.

when i rename to .teaa, windows 7 still sees this as a .zip fle and it doesn't load. i think its seeing it as .teaa.zip

im not that familiar iwth windows 7. how do i change this

I had the same problem. Go to the directory and click the help area in the upper left corner. Then type display extentions or something similar and it will tell you. I even got a link to click to just do it. Hope this helps!

From Microsoft themselves. Why those idiots still have "Hide extensions" as the default is beyond me. It's been a huge security hole since Win95. I wonder how many people have mangled their systems by unknowingly opening datafile.zip.exe?

Check the first three words in your post. You answered your own question. ****ing Microsoft. There are few companies I would rather see go under.

Youtoo, you can also now download it in the correct extension from the main page now, so you won't have to bother renaming it, though it's still good to know how to deal with Microsoft's utter stupidity.

There's the same issue on Mac OS X. You need to go into the file's information, and modify the name there.

Thanks for uploading it Aardvark, but for some reason that is beyond my comprehension, I'm still getting the bad addon error upon starting or loading a game. Anyone using this who doesn't have that error? I'm wondering if it could be on my end now, but I can't think of anything I could be doing wrong; I've used addons before. Hm.

I'm having the same issue. It was mentioned in an earlier post that the addon isn't "registered" and the game sees it as illegitimate. I think we're just waiting for that to be resolved? I could be wrong.

Try redownloading it from the sites main page? (just replace what you had with the one downloaded from sites main page, shouldn't even need to start a new character.)

I don't know. I just double checked and the MD5 I entered for the addon matches the one from the log file. The .zip here and the .teaa on te4.org are the same file, so I just don't know.

Tried redownloading the addon, still get the same message when I load a character or start a new one. It warns me that my online profile is being switched offline due to the addon I am using. I'm not sure what effect this actually has, since I can still see the chat.
