Stacking question

#1 Post by Lord Stiamot »

If I have a staff that says "Spell power on spell critical (stacks up to 3 times) + 6"

and a cloak that says "Spell power on spell critical (stacks up to 3 times) + 4" and then I have a spell critical, how does that work? Do I get +10 spell power? Or does the +6 override the +4?

But note that spell power has decreasing returns the higher you get like most other stats. If you already have a very high spell power even gaining 50 spell power makes very little difference.

It is always better to stack a +damage type which has no decreasing scale.

Eh, even if you're in tier 3, where your gross bonus to spellpower is divided by 3, a +50 (gross) bonus would still be +16 (net). That's nothing to sneer at.

technically since its additive each point of it is less effective as well
