[1.0] Unending Frenzy

#1 Post by ArcLight »

While playing a Cornac Bulwark, I've recently encountered an apparent bug that affects Unending Frenzy's kill detection. As far as I can tell, enemy deaths caused by an activated talent are not counted for the purposes of Unending Frenzy. Killing an enemy with Shield Pummel, Overpower, or Assault results in only the normal per turn stamina gain, while if the killing blow is a basic attack, Unending Frenzy's stamina gain is added. This is a sufficiently peculiar result that I'm unsure if it is intentional, but if it is working as intended, it would be helpful to update the tooltip on Unending Frenzy, because as it stands its description implies that it is much more useful than it actually is.

It looks like it should work properly, but I haven't tested it. Are you at full stamina when you use that talent? It could be that the costs of the talent are deducted after the gain from unending frenzy (which can't go above maximum).

After some more testing with different initial levels of stamina, it appears that you are correct. Starting at full stamina, the gain from Unending Frenzy disappears, while it works as described at lower initial levels. Deducting the talent's stamina cost after its damage has been dealt seems rather counterintuitive, and in my opinion makes Unending Frenzy much weaker than its description would indicate, but I suppose it is in that case an issue of design, rather than a bug. Thank you for your help!
