Recording is not the problem, making a good video out of it .. is

I agree with this, but...
Tome currently has a great backstory, the Spellblaze, and the Age of Pyre and all of that... Maybe in the voiceover, history could be addressed. That stuff facinates me, and the bits of lore and things you find out about it are pretty fun, in game. I think what might work out for a video would be something like a voiceover giving the history of Maj' Eyal, and a sped up video (something like plays in the background on load) maybe of fun boss fights. The Master comes to mind, with all the 'porting and all his summons. But I'd say, several different boss fights, with different classes pounding on different bosses (I'd say anything from pre-East could be considered, but I think that straight melee types like Bill might not be attention grabbing enough.) maybe at the end of each of them, we could highlight an artifact or something, like something we'd earn from them.

Fun bosses for this idea... Master, with all the 'ports and summons, Sandworm queen could be fun, Wraithroot has some cool visual effects for a battle.

Well, feel free to disregard me, I'm just trying to get viable ideas up and running. It's my hope that even if you don't go with my idea, it'll spark some discussion.

If the video isn't being worked on, I'd be willing to work on it, if I know what kind of things you guys think will work well, and an idea of the kind of length you want. Just let me know.

P.S. Sorry for the large block of text, just throwing stuff out there.

If you want to do the promotional trailer, please do. I had volunteered to and made several attempts, but life, computer issues, and incompetence at video editing and composition got in the way of that. The general feedback I got was about 1:30 long, possibly using http://blog.indiecity.com/?page_id=2as a voiceover (from earlier in this thread), and showing off a bit of the story, some of a few classes, and some flashy effects.

Hmm, I might give it a try as well. I have an old XP workstation with an insane graphics card and lots of free time. Let me fire up the old workhorse and see what I can produce.

Please, for the love of evil fire breathing Bunnies, if this gets added to Steam, please make the Steam version default to a different chat channel so we can ignore them easily.

I do not want to be a jerk, but I will firewall the game if a hundred whiny crybabies start bitching about how much they love CoD and this game sucks because it does not have full 3d animations and praise at the drop of a hat for whiny 10 year old kids.

I kid you not. I really do not want to hear that junk, and Steam will bring it to us.

I think this sort of attitude will be very bad for the game. If ToME fans are seen as being elitist and condescending then no one will want to play the game and it'll get very bad press.

I've done a little promotion on Twitter and Reddit, for what little it helps. Everyone go tell everyone you know to vote for this! This is the time to push it through Greenlight!
