this is a screenshot of this game, i made it after 2 hours of trying to run it on ubuntu. You possibily couldnt make it harder. And after all that hard work, after it actualy turned on... it was completely broken, bugged, it crashes almost instantly, hangs and has shitload of visual glitches. How could you - this up that much.
Sicerely, pissed off guy that lost 2 hours of his life.

System specs? OS version? I know you're frustrated but you can turn this into something positive by helping fix the problems. I promise you it is a good game, and the guy who makes it does not suck.
Re: im pissed off, you guys suck
I'm sure in a few hours Xom will change his mind and shower us with gifts of artifact fruit.
Really, though, I thought the whole purpose of linux was to waste large swaths of time trying to compile software.

Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).
Re: im pissed off, you guys suck
Yeah, i actually have to sometimes start my self-compile twice or trice to actually run the game.
Symptoms:
1 ) hangs at console start, after loading lua vm
2 ) runs but the actual game blackscreens completely (in fullscreen) - it IS running, because i can still use the main menu in the keyboard.
3 ) runs and shows main menu graphics, but the mouse doesn't register clicks - keyboard movement still works though, so i can quit.
This happens very regularly about interleaved.
run game ok - game fubared - kill game in another console or quit from the main menu - run game ok.
I suspect some kind of system resource conflict, like access to the sound card/SDL not playing nice with pulseaudio, or a artefact of a probably defective install of SDL2 (i had to make it and sudo install).
The SDL2 svn can now actually be installed 'side-by-side' with SDL1.2 (finally), so if it's a conflict bug, it's something they haven't noticed.
There's a lot of churn with gnome3 and the new window manager too (and that 'doesn't capture the mouse in fullscreen' makes me think of the WM).

Hey its Xom!
btw, the description is wrong, it is possible to appease Xom and make him nicer temporarily.

My feedback meter decays into coding. Give me feedback and I make mods.
Re: im pissed off, you guys suck
Xom should count his blessings. Does he realize how many hours of his life he would have lost if he had run it successfully?

Xorn: I'm running it fine in Ubuntu 12.04. I just need to launch it from the terminal using this command (after "cd"ing to the right folder):
env LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/alsa-lib/libasound_module_conf_pulse.so ./t-engine
EDIT: That is, assuming you aren't just making a single post, and will check in after more than two weeks...
EDIT 2: Also, you already found that thread...
