I had the game lock up when I was going to the last level of Daikara, so I force-quit the game for the night. When I came back to it in the morning, I was set back to some time before, standing before an unopened vault I already cleared in Dreadfell.
Odd, I thought but no huge deal. I had a full pack so I recalled out, and found that my world map had completely reset. The Hermit and the random dungeons had moved to new locations and the fog of war was over everything again.
Now I have 'And now for a grave' in my journal, but no way to complete it, and it may be hard to get back in to the Sher'Tul fortress since the portal to the top is gone. XD Oddly, when I returned to Daikara, the map had already been cleared all the way to the last level. IDK what happened there. I've saved since then, so a save probably wouldn't help diagnose it.

Re: [b42] Something reset the worldmap?
I just had the game lock up after rod-of-recalling out of Dreadfall 9 after deciding it was too tough for the moment. This was the first game where I found the trannsmorgriphication (spelling??) chest so I don't know if something to do with the changing-level chest dialogue set it off, or if it was something unrelated.
But, there may be multiple bugs with the world map anyway. My mountain graphics tend to get corrupted as I play, probably a completely unrelated issue from what you describe.
