How can i unlock other classes and races and such?
I have only ever unlocked one class, i cant seem to find any of the others, where should i look?
Re: How can i unlock other classes and races and such?
Just do stuff.
Many of the classes and races are unlocked simply by completing areas. There's a few exceptions, but in general, that gets 4/5ths of it.

Yeah, it's pretty difficult to give non-spoiler hints and clues.
It is true that you'll unlock quite a bit if you play the game in a "completionist" style.
Progress as far as you can, complete as many quests as you can and become as powerful as you can.

And then read spoilers! There are a few unlocks you'll never figure out by just playing.

Re: How can i unlock other classes and races and such?
I'd say Necromancer, Marauder, and Mindslayer are the big ones. It's very easy to just never use the Library after the first time or two, or never bother much with rogues, or write the Wayist off as a loss at level 9.
<Ferret> The Spellblaze was like a nuclear disaster apparently: ammo became the "real" currency.
Re: How can i unlock other classes and races and such?
Maybe true, but the flavor text on the character creation screen gives hints as to how to unlock them. For example, the locked Mindslayer description says something like: "Find the way, fight for the way," something, something. Necromancer's is "Walk with the dead and drink of their knowledge," or some such. It's not explicit, but once you've explored a bit you'll start getting ideas for things to try.jenx wrote:There are a few unlocks you'll never figure out by just playing.

Apart from those who just aren't keen on riddles, isn't that a stick in the eye for those unfamiliar with English? (Also, I still think alternate unlock methods are a great idea.)
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).

Probably, but isn't a game that's only in English "a stick in the eye for those unfamiliar with English?"bricks wrote:Apart from those who just aren't keen on riddles, isn't that a stick in the eye for those unfamiliar with English?
The alternate unlocks idea is pretty good, though.

Also chronomancer could be tricky to figure out depending on how you do at a certain part.

Poisons talent tree I think is counter-intuitivedarkgod wrote:Like which jenx??
Mindslayer is quite obscure. Lots of players never even player the race you need to play for this.
Maruader (perhaps)
Necromancer
Brawler is a bit counter-intuitive, and very hard to do if you've got no idea how to play the class. And you need lots of money in that case.
They are the main ones for me.

Brawler is a quest reward. If you try to explore the entire game, you'll get it eventually. Poisons come from taking a certain option when completing a quest, so players who want to see everything the game has to offer over multiple playthroughs will end up unlocking the tree.
Most of the unlockable classes are either tied to a quest (or something similarly obvious that may not be explicitly marked as a quest) or something you're going to unlock eventually just by playing the game long enough. The only exceptions are Mindslayer (requires you to clear a "quest" under certain conditions), Necromancer (like Brawler), Marauder (tied to a particular class), and Paradox Mage (tied to a particular class and requires you to fail a certain quest).
