Reward for arcanists that kill Urkis?
So, if you side with Zigur and kill Urkis, Protector Myssil will give you the Fungus tree. If you go there by way of Linaniil instead, you get nothing beyond the usual loot for clearing a dungeon. Shouldn't you get some sort of reward? The renegade Tempest was giving arcanists a bad name, so you'd think the mages would be grateful. The Aegis tree would make sense if you're trying to give the arcane parallel to the Zigur reward (plus it would be a total godsend to necromancers). Or perhaps a small bonus to mana regen to make it more attractive for non-mages to rescue arcane escorts?

I was thinking about this as well once I learned about the fungus tree reward.
Perhaps it could be a bonus similar to saving the yeek from Subject Z: permanent spell save and silence immunity increase.
Aegis tree would be cool too.

The reward is you killed a boss, got levels & artifacts from him

[tome] joylove: You can't just release an expansion like one would release a Kraken XD

AM users have a pretty distinct disadvantage to non-AM users without fungus. I think the fungus tree was created more of a compensation to that fact more than anything else. In previous betas, antimagic was more of a challenge mode than anything else, because of those disadvantages.
Fungus brought them back up to snuff.

And then they got the only source of mindstar mastery outside of summoners and all my mindpower spec'd classes just go =_=
We could stand hate and psi powered mindstar trees, maaaaybe? Or something. Mumblemutter. Tristar slayers would like to have a good chance of getting something good

Mindstar Mastery will no longer be AM-only, only those available to *get* AM-only(You don't have to actually have the category, just be able to learn it), next version.
So Hate/Psi classes will be able to get Mindstar Mastery without the AM investment.
I would kinda like to see a +.25 Mana regen potion reward or something, but that's mostly just because it gets old to always require Mana regen equipment for non-fighters that have mana based skills(Like Premonition or Arcane Eye). A way around that would be neat. Not necessarily something limited to this quest, but it would be appropriate here.

Aye, aye... we could probably still use hate/psi mindstar trees, though
Or at least a psionic one. It's really flipping weird that an equilibrium tree has psiblades as its first tier talent
Also wouldn't mind mindstar <something> (if not the current tree) on my undead, too. Unless... unless DG did something horrific and made undead completely unable to wear nature powered items. That would be incredibly cruel. But still not precluding psionic powered stars!

My addon has one.
Except I made a mistake, so it isn't granted in the currently available version.

The Afflicted mindstar tree is Gestures.
If there were to be Psi mindstar tree made, I feel like the thing to do would be to put Psiblades in the psionic tree and give the Wild-gift tree a new entry-level skill. Something a bit like Poisons or Blade of Light, maybe, where it adds a big pile of Mindpower-based damage-on-hit, with a modifier for the mindstar's tier. Then the Psi tree would get an actual Mindstar Mastery along the lines of current Dagger Mastery or Staff Mastery, and...a couple of other things.
This is mostly because I find the idea of a dude stabbing you with a big glowy spike created by his mind and channeled through a gem feels more like a psychic thing than a nature thing.

<Ferret> The Spellblaze was like a nuclear disaster apparently: ammo became the "real" currency.
Re: Reward for arcanists that kill Urkis?
If we're talking about moving Psiblades to a psi-based class tree, how about giving Mindstar mastery a nature-based attack theme. I would suggest a nature damage-based version of drain life (fitting natural theme, I think). Of course, damage would have to be scaled so that the healing wasn't completely OP, but drain life is a rare enough feature at the moment as it is, and it's an interesting mechanic to add.
