Stuck in Sher'tul fortress

#1 Post by Huz »

For the first time, I've got as far as unlocking the fortress, getting the chest, and using it enough to get the call to return. I was halfway through a dungeon at the time, so finished it before returning via the portal.

I arrived back - the energy level is now 29 - at the southern of the two portal points; one square north of me was another copy of my character, one level lower than my current. I made one step NE, then attempted a step W to talk to her. Nothing happened, and from this point I've not been able to do anything - I can't move in any direction, or do anything with my clone, even after fully quitting and reloading.

I guess I'll start a new character for now, but if there is a way to unlock this one it'd be kinda nice. :)

I compiled b40 from source, running on "Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS"; let me know if there's other info that'd be useful.

Hmm, not good... Looks like it'll need DarkGod to personally fix it, but I happen to know that he's off to a very important conference this weekend... Hang on to the save for now and go enjoy some other characters :)

Yeah, this is a crappy bug that's been lingering around for awhile. It's very rare that it happens with the latest beta, but it's really a mood killer. Darkgod will ask you to upload the save file, which he'll fix for you then send back to you. So don't delete the player!

Cheers guys; good to know (I think) that it's a known issue.
