b40 doomed gestures

#1 Post by jenx »

Can gestures be class again? Too many generic options, especially for antimagic doomed

Please no.

Otherwise on vanilla doomed you have way too many class options, and not enough generic options. (literally, two trees).

Besides which, the current incarnation of gestures is fairly utility oriented, and lacks the pizzazz of the class options.

I think the idea is that you need to choose what generics are more important to you and go from there. You're not supposd to max all your generic talents or even most of them. What makes a class interesting is figuring out what things you need to eschew to make your build work.

I get that Afflicted have a lot of good generics, but you don't have to go down cursed items (At all!) and don't have to fully invest in unnatural body.

No no, please no...Gesture didn't get any love when it was class...it's much better now really with ability to choose it independent of class talents...
Why can't TOME 4 has a secret room where you can represent game bugs as, well, enemies you can crush like in Divine Divinity? That would be cool...

But if you take cursed tree and antimagic and then mindstar mastery, you get 7 generic trees!

Classes that get at least 7 generic trees when taking cursed items, antimagic, and mindstar mastery:
Berserker
Bulwark
Archer
Brawler
Marauder
Summoner
Wyrmic
Mindslayer

I can see I'm losing this argument!

But I would still say, the generic talents the doomed NEED are too important to neglect and hence take too long to gain. Gestures as class points would solve this IMHO

What's this need business? I found that I was ecstatic to have gestures as generic because I find most of the other generics worthless @_@

Gestures makes more sense as a generic tree then either Cursed Form or Dark Sustenance. If Doomed are too generic heavy then one of those trees should be made class (and possibly buffed) rather then Gestures.
