Some questions and some ramblings

#1 Post by vbmark »

Had a blast staying up too late last night playing. I finished the dungeon -- I really didn't think I would survive that -- and was able to bring back some good loot into town.

Do you get a house in this game where you can store stuff?

After leaving the town a little bit richer I went South East to the woods. I found myself using the keyboard shortcuts more and more -- auto explore is great! Unfortunately, I auto-explored right around a corner and came face to face with the boss. I was not prepared and he killed me to death

But I came back and kicked his ethereal butt and got some more good loot.

There is one thing that I find myself using the mouse for a lot and that is to hover over my opponent to make the stats window pop up. I would love for that to remain open instead of fading away. Beside Vi@gra is there a way to make it stay up?

Also, I was going to ask a question about using a rune but now I forgot what the message was that came up -- it was about two paragraphs of why I couldn't use the rune. Oh, well, when I play again maybe I'll take a screen shot.

Last question. I have one life left to live. I need some more. Is there some rogue in a dark alley I can speak to who will sell me some black-market lives? I'll pay anything. I'll get the money, I swear. I just need some more lives, man!

You get a house eventually, but early on there shouldn't really be much you want to keep.

Tooltips always disappear, but you can use the keyboard shortcut to look at a creature if you don't like touching the mouse. There's also some sort of enemies list thing which I never use myself...

Was the rune thing because of saturation? There's a special mechanic that means you can't spam runes without limit. Look out for the "runic saturation" effect when you use a rune.

More lives are gained at specific level-ups. You can get infinite lives if you pay real world money to DarkGod :P (donate on the web-site whilst signed in to your profile) Some people consider this bad for gameplay though, as it makes the game less tense.

The "enemies list thing"--is that still present in the new interface? Used to appear in the hot keys bar when hitting TAB, but now that brings up the map. When I hit CTRL-TAB to give instructions to an escort, it now instead says something about displaying enemies, but no list comes up.

Not a big deal, but since the list displayed enemy distance I occasionally used it to see how many baddies were in talent range.
