New Player Needs Help

This is my first attempt to play this game.
I am trying to run b37
I have Vista64, NVIDIA GTX 570Ti graphics card, 8GB memory, everything updated, i7 processor
I can run b25 with no problem. when i try to run b37 I get a flash and then no game
I never make it to the start up screen
the stderr has this:PANIC: unprotected error in call to Lua API (Unable to initialize: attempt to call a string value)
the te4_log has nothing in it

Any help would be appreciated

I have searched the forums and tried the help I have found but still no luck
I see one post where there is a file for 64 bit systems that may help. Is there any way I could get this?

Update your video card drivers first, then try running in compat. mode, then other junk.

Everything is updated. I am a veteran game player and self-proclaimed computer geek.
I have tried everything posted on the forums and everything I know to do.
I have attempted to run all versions of the beta; My problem starts between b28 and b29
I can run all versions up to b28; after that same issue everytime
I do not know if something specific was changed between these versions and then continued
May be a developer has an idea?
I am still enjoying b28 but being a perfectionist I would like to run the lastest version if possible

Hey there, sorry that you are experiencing problems. I suggest you drop by the IRC channel to chat more with the developers who use Windows. I personally don't use Windows so I cannot help there... cheers!
