[b37] Freeze / Lockup on Windows 7 /AMD HD 6970

#1 Post by Tiny Turtle »

Hey buddies!

I'm having an issue with the game where if I play more than 15 minutes into it, the game causes a hard freeze / lockup on the computer that it cannot recover from. All sound stops and it either freezes on the last image or the screen just goes blank.

It is possible that this may simply be on my end of course, but I haven't had this happening on any other game or any other roguelike, so I figured it's better to be safe than sorry and report it. If there's any more information you need, please let me know here and I'll try and get it to you asap. Thanks!

I have the same issue, also got a 6970 and Windows 7 64bit.

Either a platform or driver issue but never got an answer when I last posted :(

Short answer: We don't know why it does this.

Long answer: Jargon jargon jargon science complex complicated blah blah we still don't know why because asdflkjadf.

There are some "fixes" on the forums in various threads but take my word with a grain of salt. I know that a new version of Catalyst came out very recently, so go ahead and update if you haven't.

I had this problem and it dissapeared when I installed the Catalyst 12.1a preview driver.
