Just wanted to complain. Of course, if there's an up-side to this that'll get me excited about my character again, please share!

the curse of antimagic
Dang it, I know I'm still learning and this kind of thing is to be expected, but as I started as a Wyrmic I saw the antimagic town on the map for the first time. Of course I investigated. When I was high enough in level I got to go into the arena there. When I came out I wasn't sure what had happened. Took me a few battles to realize that most of my equipment had been taken off!!!
Some great stuff, too. And now most of the good stuff I find I can't use. This really sucks. Would be nice to be given the choice to abandon anti-magic. I feel like my character is seriously handicapped now.

Re: the curse of antimagic
Well you get a special anti-magic tree (with the possibility of nabbing another) and there's a few powerful anti-magic only artifacts. But, uh, yeah, it's permanent. I thought the text was reasonably clear, and there's a sign outside saying you can't use "magic-cursed" items. Perhaps the warning can be made clearer.
The Zigur shops all sell anti-magic friendly stuff by the way, and usually fairly powerful stuff.

Re: the curse of antimagic
I consider anti-magic practically mandatory on my wyrmics. It's really really good on that class so don't shelve the character yet
Max out Resolve as soon as possible and enjoy.

Thanks, I was starting to get the hang of it. Then I jumped in the farportal and got some nasty Orc spellcaster as the boss. Instadeath coming around a corner. And being by first farportal death, I also leaned that there's no escape. Didn't have enough time to try the RoR. Could only get him down to half hp with stuns, dazes, blinds, and confusing before I was out of ammo, he was healing himself, and I was running again. That hex which continually dazes you is pretty broken.

Agree!!! Why not add a choice of removing some unessential talent trees as to retrieve some skill points at the cost of some gold?rangerjeff wrote:Dang it, I know I'm still learning and this kind of thing is to be expected, but as I started as a Wyrmic I saw the antimagic town on the map for the first time.
