Bugs with door open sound and lore

I scanned the first couple of pages in this forum and also the bugfix addon and didn't see these there. Apologies if they've already been posted.

When I autoexplore the door open sound plays when it stops at a door, even though the door has not been opened. On a related note, if an enemy attacks at the end of an autoexplore, sometimes I won't hear the sound (especially for spells).

Also, I had a pretty wacky game last night where bandit forts (the 35x35 ones) spawned on both Old Forest 3 and Old Forest 4. Unfortunately, this meant that the lore for both areas never spawned. I searched every single square of the Old Forest, including pickaxing through all of the woods in all five areas and into all the secret areas of the bandit forts, and never found more than 4 pieces of lore. This meant I couldn't get into my house, which I really needed because I wanted to unlock necromancers. :(

One more bug: I got the lava vault for Dreadfell (I think there's only one?) and it spawned a piece of lore in the lava, which as far as I know makes it unrecoverable. (And I had to pickaxe to get to a piece of Trollmire lore in that game too, which seems wrong. Is this intended behavior?)

That would not be intended.

In all the characters I've had throughout all the versions I've played, missing lore hasn't ever been an issue. I have however heard, in the in-game chat, that occasionally some lore may go missing in trollmire.

To put it another way, autoexplore gets the lore for me every time so far. I have not tried the bugfix addon, but it doesn't seem likely that would cause the issue.

Whatever lore you find in a vault I would imagine is randomly spawned there like any other loot, but thats just a guess. I always thought the dungeon-specific lore was always generated outside the vaults. The lava can be crossed but it is dangerous (obviously).

I would recommend that you get a new copy of TOME and see if that fixes those issues at all (I believe they are very unusual). Sorry I can't be of more help.

For the record, these are the only pieces of lore I have ever gotten like that in some 15-20 characters. And I remember reading in the "make a vault" thread that someone said to make 30x30 size dungeons or less because the bandit fortress 35x35 size could cause problems. I think this is what has happened here, and I think that this particular vault should be made smaller as a result.

Keep in mind that when I say the lore wasn't there on the bandit dungeons, it wasn't there ANYWHERE. Not even in the vault or inside the vault's walls. It just wasn't there. I think this is because I got an unlikely placement close to the center of the map on both bandit fortresses, because there was only a one-wide walkway around both of them. I think the lore placement algorithm said "welp, no place to put the lore with all these trees" and gave up.

Also, I don't think it's my copy, because I got another bandit fortress since then that did spawn the lore properly, as the placement of the fortress was on the bottom of the screen.

The one Trollmire lore inside a forest I had to pickaxe to was weird. Never seen that before or since. I know you had to hack to pickaxe to it because autoexplore didn't find it (and I double-checked to make sure). I've seen other people post that they couldn't find the lore in the Trollmire before so I suspect this is just a rare bug that's been around a while but doesn't show up very often. (There's a kind of similar bug where air elementals occasionally show up outside Derth proper on the Derth quest, because there's a one-space diagonal opening in the lower-right corner of Derth. At least you could see the enemy there, though.)

And about the lava lore...well, I'm betting the game just doesn't check lava when it picks lore spots, because it's a rare tile type. I'm pretty sure I've found lore in vaults several times so I don't think that's a problem.

Yeah, what happened there I do hear about occasionally as you know, even the problem with old forest. I didn't know that the problem might have been caused by the forts though, and thats good to know. I've been very fortunate to have avoided those problems so far.
