That's a great idea! Maybe even put like 3 or 5 gem slots in it and make it with low/no stat requirements. Then it could be equally usefull for any character. Maybe something like:

Crown of the Alchemist King (0 Def, 0 Armor)

This Crown once belonged to an Alchemist King. Though the gems have since been lost, they can easily be added or removed because of it's unique design.

When Wielded/Worn:
It can be used to Imbue/Remove Gems, costing 100 out of 500/500 power.


You could even make a whole set out of it that could be equipped by any char (such as Crown, Ring(s), Ammy, Cloak, Belt). And the set bonus could multiply your Imbued gems on all currently equipped set pieces. Or you could just make a Rod of Gem Imbuing/Removing or somesuch artifact.

Nice idea, though it would have to be just one item and one gem, cause otherwise it'd get crazy overpowered.

Just one gem would be nice. Maybe two, since it's such a valuable slot. Would it be possible for it to just give the player a gem slot whenever the crown is equipped?

Clockwork Voratun Chestcage.

Crafted by an unstable but brilliant alchemist using the principles of golemancy this chestpiece features a pair or artificial arms mid-way down the torso, once properly strapped in these mimic the movements of your natural arms in a strangely intuitive fashion Sadly this fragile and restrictive piece of arcana offers little actual protection

very rare, end-game chest
comparable fatigue to massive voratun armour,
steel mail defensive stats
-3 dex penalty
+5 physical power
Grants two extra arm slots which will only accept the same arrangement of items as the real arms.
IE: Steel greatmaul in MH, forces 2h only in the mechanical set, 1h and shield, forces 1h and shield, Bow forces bow.

That will probably be a bitch to code... but what do you think of the idea?

I like the gem crown idea, though it has to be balanced a bit.
You could make the limitation be TOTAL gem tier tier, and/or make it so only one level 5 gem can be used.
If it was a single tier 5 gem and then up to two others with tier <=4 it likely wouldn't BE too powerful - well, one artifact gem like the Goedeloth plus +8% resist and +8% damage is still amazing but far less than 3 or 5 slots with no limitations like Godslayer was proposing.
(Think of it as the crown having a large/main central socket and two smaller/less magical side ones).
Alternatively - don't allow artifact gems in this at all...that'd go a long way to avoiding it being overpowered, but I think it would also make it a bit, dunno, sad?

Also, should definetely be an arcane item. Sorry, Zigurs :P

Ego sling:
"Overpowering"
- each shot has 5-15% chance to knock the target back by 1 square.
- can be activated for Inertial Shot
- +crit multiplier

Ego sling:
"of Recoil"
- can be activated for "Recoil shot" - normal shot that attempts to jump back up to 4 squares in the direction opposite to the target

Ego sling:
"of Indomitability"
- +confusion resistance
- +mind save
- +Armor Piercing
- activation for War Shout

Ego sling:
"Sniper's"
- +accuracy
- +armor piercing
- 10% chance to do "eye shot" when shooting
- can be activated for "head shot" - instant activation, duration 1, during its duration all shots attempt to daze target.

"Skipping"
- if a shot hits, a secondary target in radius of 2 gets damaged with 50% of the base damage, with all bonuses/penalties applied.

Buff Titanic with +20% armour hardiness. This would make it much, much less bland of an artifact.

Crystalline Blade

Stralite equivalent greatsword.
Stat: 60% STR, 60% WIL.

+ 5 WIL, +5 STR
+0.20 mastery to Focus and Psi Combat.

Can be activated to imbue with a gem up to grade 4. This allows it to be used as a Psionic focus, gives the normal bonuses for the gem, and changes the sword's damage type from physical to the gem's. If this is done with a gem already inside it, you do not retrieve the old gem, it is lost.

Huntsman's Shifting Bow

This bow glistening with the distinct shimmer of a multi-hued drake, and seems to pulse with raw elemental energies.
+25% damage versus dragons
Every turn, it cycle the three main drake elements for damage, and can be activated to use a random breath power.


Belt of the Blight Lord
{ leather belt }
Pulled from the struggling waist of a fallen Reaver Lord, this belt still drips acidic vengance.
Grants level 2 Acid blood when equipped.
50% disease immunity
25% acid resistance


The Master's Sash
{ cloth belt }
Even a master necromancer should know that death will always catch you in the end.
Grants L2 Blurred Mortality
-15% light resistance

Norgos' Pelt

Great post SomeGirl :)

Just so you guys know I'd like to code some more artifacts for the game but what I need badly is Names, Themes, and Descriptions :) I can handle the stats and making them unique and interesting as far as the effects go. So if you guys have any cool artifact ideas feel free to post them, with or without stats and with or without code. Obviously stuff that's already coded Darkgod can just add in if he likes it but if it's not coded and you just have a neat idea I might pick it up and do some code for it.
