Every day is Christmas on the SVN

#1 Post by edge2054 »

I don't know what happened but my SVN compile is running way smoother then b37 or any version of Tome 4 ever has for me.

When I finish levels and the transmog chest pops up it's like Christmas because I missed auto-explore picking up half that loot :)

Are you saying it's somehow accidentally better optimized? Because that would be awesome.

It's not any faster for me, though I guess it was never that slow either. Though tiger_eye has said that if you use cheatmode things go very noticeably faster.

What's really good about the SVN is the fantastic new UI, with all elements moveable around the screen. DarkGod, stop holding back these wonders from the masses! :P

Is it known why cheat mode makes things go faster? I think it would be great if autoexplore (and other things) were faster than they are now.

That's not to say I'm not looking forward to the other forthcoming developments, of course.

Hmm.. I do have cheat mode active. When I'm on the SVN I almost always have it on so I can debug anything weird I come across.

I'll have to try turning it off and seeing if the performance drops.

The game is very slow for me, always has been. I'm on an old computer though.

I had assumed the UI was somehow more optimized then the old one and thus my performance boosts.

edit: Seems the same with cheat mode off. In other words, it's still faster then I've ever experienced.
