Not sure if this is a bug or a future development not yet implemented, but I noticed all the notes in the Trollmire conclude with "and a portion of the region is revealed to you" or something like that. I expected some part of the map to be revealed, but nothing. Though, maybe this is for when I go outside on the world map. Nope. So then I thought that something funny's going on here. Either the notes shouldn't say that, or they should do something. But then I thought, if the notes did reveal a portion of the map, how would the z function work? Would items appear on the map and I'd go collect them? Or would the z function figure I'd already been over there and so I'd end up leaving objects and monsters on the map uncleared unless I went over and explored manually. Unlike angband where you don't see the dots on the floor in the hallways after magic mapping until you actually pass through them yourself, so it's clear where you've been and not.
Well, just wanted to make of note of this here.

If you collect all of them, you gain access to a special level after trollmire 3 with an additional boss in it. The notes could be reworded to reflect this more clearly.

For map-revealing things like the Vision spell, I've noticed that auto-explore doesn't seem to care. It apparently isn't "explored" unless you've been there.

Ah, good. And thanks for clearing that up, guys.

I believe this has been fixed in the bugfix addon.Varil wrote:For map-revealing things like the Vision spell, I've noticed that auto-explore doesn't seem to care. It apparently isn't "explored" unless you've been there.
<DarkGod> lets say it's intended
Re: trollmire notes map revealed... but not
Fixed how? I'm not sure which is the intended behavior, so I'm not sure which way the bugfix is meant to set it.
I may simply be misremembering, but I don't recall any change to auto-explore behavior when I switched to the bugfix. In any case, whatever the intended behavior is, I actually prefer it to explore areas mapped by magic and other methods since that means I can get a handle on upcoming terrain and look around properly, then use auto-explore to find anything I overlooked.
