Pity change

#1 Post by lukep »

Currently, Pity is similar to Stealth, but worse in every way. It has a (usually) larger chance to be seen through, has no supporting skills, and has a minimum range, before which it is completely ineffective.

Instead of having Pity deactivate the same way as Stealth does, limit its utility by having any damage that you deal give opponents the "observant" buff for 5 turns, which allows that individual to see through Pity. This would make it distinct from stealth, in that the player could fight one enemy at close range, while others only slowly close in (due to the chance of seeing through it).

I've been working up some new unlockable talents for Cursed to finish the rework I've done on the class. One of the changes is to remove Dark Figure, including Pity. Most of those talents seemd broken to me. Pity was just a lame version of stealth, which is much better handled by rogue classes. I've kept a form of Radiant Fear (more like a reverse Beckon) and placed it in a Fears tree.

@benli - Those sound like good changes. I personally never took dark figure as the talents never seemed all that useful to me especially since cursed suffers a chronic shortage of talent points, whether class or generic.
