Cant run game on win64
So, been trying to run the game on a Win64 based system, ASUS laptop, i7-720QM processor, with Mobility Radeon 5870 (1Gb VRAM), and 8Gb Ram memory. I was under the impression that once i downloaded the windows version from the download page at http://te4.org/download, i would be able to run the game, without compiling it from the source. Tried the Beta 37 and 36, without ay luck.
So, a few questions:
Is it necessary to download both the windows file and the source, and go through the compiling process ?
If the windows file should be working, is there any install tips ? Am I missing something ?
Any help is appreciated,

Re: Cant run game on win64
I am currently running b37 tome on my win7x64 home premium operating system. This is without compiling, just the stuff from the website.
Re: Cant run game on win64
Sorry, realized a few seconds too late that i didnt tell anything about the problem... but thats the thing... there isnt much to tell. I hit the T-engine.exe, the windows icon shows its running the program (little wheel turning at the right of the white arrow), and then pretty much nothing happens... after a few seconds the icon is back to just the arrow, no error message, no window opens, nothing... was wondering if it could be because of my mobile graphics card, instead of a regular one, or because im missing some necessary program or library...

Re: Cant run game on win64
I also run it on W7 64bit and also had weird trouble. I changed my resolution to native monitor resolution and full screen. After that it works. You can do it without entering game, I just don't remember how
.

Re: Cant run game on win64
Yes try to edit the file C:/Users/yourusername/T-Engine/4.0/settings/resolution.cfg and set it to something like 800x600, see if it starts

Re: Cant run game on win64
Well, tried to change the resolution.cfg, but couldn't find it anywhere. There's no folder named "T-Engine" on C:\Users\Kallyn\ (That's probably bad, right?) and when i did a search for the file "resolution.cfg", i couldn't find it anywhere on my computer... on a side note, i didn't install anything, i just unziped the file i got from the downloads section on the Tome page, since i saw no "install.exe" or any kind of installation instructions. Thanks for the help, by the way

Re: Cant run game on win64
Hum then I will need the te4_log.txt stdout.txt and stderr.txt files please, they should be in the game's folder

Re: Cant run game on win64
I created a separate thread - I get the same error message as the Op about the bad string parsing.
However, my game does start - it's just that it eventually freezes up entirely.
see attached, this is a log I put in the bug thread. The game froze up like 8 times during that instance.
running on win7 64 bit with disable visual themes/disable desktop composition/disable display scaling on high DPI and letting it run as administrator in case it's needed. Basically the game inevitably crashes within 5 minutes of starting - the most likely instances are when the levelup screen is open.

The problem is here. Not related to Win64 at all...Kallyn wrote:stderr.txt :

Re: Cant run game on win64
notwithoutmyanus problem is different though, it's the luajit that is acting up on 64bits in some configs it seems I have sent him a no jit version and it works, I'll package one with b38
