an addon to avoid the "Ambush!" bug in b36

#1 Post by tiger_eye »

In b36, if you don't beat the orc ambush, then the game doesn't successfully update the quest by removing the staff and creating an exit and the player needs to cheat to continue. The attached addon fixes this. Simply unzip it and put it "game/addons". Do this before you pick up the staff. You can stop using the addon after you talked with the Last Hope elder. This addon won't help if your character is already bugged (i.e., if you've already picked up the staff).

*edit* got the *.teaa file to work. Unfortunately, the forums don't allow *.teaa file extension uploads, so you still need to unzip the attachment to get the *.teaa file (yes, I zipped it twice).

You might have had the same problem that I did. After much experimentation and failure, I determined that you cannot zip the folder, you need to zip the files that would be in the first folder instead (not including the folder itself).

I would have released such an addon too if I had made it to the master.

I created an addon page: http://te4.org/games/addons/tome/fix-am ... h-tigereye
It can be downloaded as teaa and should validate for everyone, so there is no need to wait for installing it or removing it after you don't need it anymore. :D

I imagine the community can release more quickfixes for critical bugs in the future, gathered in one addon.
