I don't see it necessary.Still there is a lot of cheat guide out there.
The game should be played the way the player see fit.Although the maker dislike cheating but a cheating prevent method which make the game slow and a little unplayable for the other no-cheating player is no a good idea.

Have you tried changing the "Save in the background" setting? Saving in the background is faster if it doesn't slow things down too much and you can keep playing. Otherwise, not saving in the background is faster, because it doesn't take nearly as long to save.

Yes.But save in the ground don't improve much.
It is quite obvious saving is taking up a lot of time of my playing.

Tome didn't used to save every zone. Then came the realization that any player could abuse a certain exploit (and it was easy to do) to give themselves infinite lives.

It turned out that there wasn't an easy fix to said exploit, and now Tome saves whenever zones are changed. I understand that people with older computers have quite a bit of trouble dealing with all the new saves, but if the save per zone change wasn't implemented, then accomplishing something within Tome would have little to no meaning.

Now there might be a way to edit your personal version of Tome to eliminate automatic saving, but that invalidates your version, meaning that achievements are not recorded, characters are not saved to the vault, and online chat is inaccessible through the game. And even if there is such a way to edit the game without breaking it (not the invalidation, just plain broken), I don't know it; if someone does know and feels like it is worth showing this person; send him a personal message instead of a forum post please.

Autosave is not meant to prevent cheating, it's meant to safeguard people against crashes.
Also due to the very nature of how the game works there will be always saving when changing zones, there has always been. What was added is a full save instead of a partial save (the partial save being the biggest part of it anyway it doesnt change much in terms of speed)

You can still chat with an invalid game. No character vault or achievements/unlocks (You can always manually add the latter as you get them, if you feel like it.), of course, but chat works fine.

The autosave is more for beta purposes than anti-cheat, from what I understand, in most cases. Some cases have been specifically implemented to prevent scumming, though (Alchie quests).

DG would rather folks speak up about what they're scumming over so the need to scum can be removed, from what I understand... or use an invalid version, so they don't clutter up the legit characters in the vault. Edit: Ninja'd!

In any case, T4 is open source. Y'want auto-save gone, make it gone.

I've got a pretty crummy computer and get by alright with background saves disabled and zone save per level turned off, though. All the saving is a little jarring, but I've dealt with worse :(

Infinite lives are easy to get by killing the game process when the characters dies and then starting the game again and reloading the save. If one wants to avoid this, then the game should save the death state immediately upon being killed.

The part where you type words and then other people read them -- that works fine. But you can't link objects or monsters.
