OK here is another stupid question.

How do I raise the number of infusion/runes available on my character above the default 3?

I understand that it requires me spending a category point but I see no option within the Level Up screen for me to increase the number of slots.

Another unobvious one - use a rune/infusion when you have no more slots available, and "buy a new slot with a category point" will show up along with the choice to overwrite your other inscriptions.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).

Ahh ok so that's how you do it. Thanks for the reply.

Here is another question I have about dwarves.

Is the Power Is Money talent working?

It is listed as instantaneous and not as a passive talent so I'm assuming there should have been an icon show up on my talent bar when I spent a point on the skill but no icon showed up.

Power is Money is a passive talent.

Yeah I noticed Power Is Money is passive the last time I levelled.

Here is yet another question:

How do I imbue armor with a gem I have in my inventory?

I chose Imbue as a reward from an escort quest and try and use the talent and it pulls up a screen asking me to select the gem to imbue but there are no gems listed.

Your talent level in Imbue determines how powerful a gem you can work with. For more spoilery info, see the wiki.

How do I get skills back into the talent bar at the bottom after I (accidentally) took them out? :?

Through the 'm' menu - hover your mouse over a talent and press the hotkey you want for it, or right-click and select a hotkey from the menu.

Is there a way to completely unbind a key? A lot of times lately I've been hitting Shift+. (for '>') to go up or down stairs, and getting the run prompt (default binding '.') instead. Since I don't need that run key, I'd like to turn it off.

Supposedly there's a file somewhere you can edit to change it, but I've got no clue where it is or how to manage that. The best method I've personally found is to assign the annoying key to something you just don't use, that's out of the way. Control+alt+shift F12 or something along those lines.

Thanks. That's what I've been doing myself so far (though I probably should have gone further with the modifiers like you suggest), but I wasn't sure if there was a way to remove the binding itself.

How do you use the new transmogrification chest ?

There might have been an instruction on how to do it but I skipped it and now I am lost.

Nvm. Apparently the autopickup into transmog chest only works for stuff that havent been in your inventory. Does not work for dropped items.

Yes, in B36 you have to manually transmogrify your old items.
