Re: Favorite game breakers
Haha, I didn't see it mentioned, but I've been having a blast with a Shalore berserker.
The basic setup is this, if I have some setup time. To get me going, I whack myself with a fire staff (elemental harmony), activate providence, then eden's guile. Next, I hit the fun button: Unstoppable. Things aren't finished. I now immediately pop perfect strikes, and possibly my shielding rune -- basically, anything I've got on hand that's instant cast. The coup, though, is when I exploit the good o'shalore timeless. All in all, it gives me a unstoppable duration (listed) at 12 turns, extended further by whatever ridiculous amount of global speed I've built up. This is can't-be-killed, at an extra 100 accuracy, moving at gods-know-what global speed, for a solid dozen+ turns. With a berserker, toting around an 80 power crystalline greatsword and shattering impact, and is very, very, likely to come out of that dozen turn murderspree with full (1.7k, for my current fellow) health, thanks to unstoppable's healing effect.
The fun thing, is that's just if I've got set-up time. A lesser cascade is simply unstoppable, followed by perfect strikes, grace of the eternals, and finally timeless, to make all that goodness last a delightfully long amount of time. A much more modest global boost, but able to be popped with zero preparation. And, hey. I've got a conveyance staff in my second weapon set. If 9-10 turns of that unstoppable rampage doesn't kill everything, I've still got 2-3 to simply swap in the staff and port out. It's good times.

Re: Favorite game breakers
My Skellie Arcane Blade currently had two shield runes on autocast with Shielding sustained to extend their duration, with the racial shield available as an extra, and Arcane Shielding propping up a shield any time I use Reassemble or Heal. However my grand plan of using the Bloodcaller ring to constantly heal and have extra shields has turned out to be unviable - the level of healing done by it is too pathetically low :(edge2054 wrote: Quicken Spells + Runes of Shielding + Shielding + Resilient Bones
Running around with this combo right now and have a base 15 cooldown Rune of Shielding down to 11 cooldown with 11 duration and 9 turns of saturation on autocast. So basically I always have a shielding rune going and it takes zero effort on my part to keep it up :)

Does Heal [the aegis tree talent] work on skelly/ghouls? As in, heals for more than 1?

Heal spell is arcane, it magically reconstructs the body, it does not use the forces of nature

Re: Favorite game breakers
I used Bloodcaller a bit on my Skeleton Archer and the healing was awesome! But the amount of damage Skeleton Archers do I'd considered way way way overpowered on just about any other class.Grey wrote: My Skellie Arcane Blade currently had two shield runes on autocast with Shielding sustained to extend their duration, with the racial shield available as an extra, and Arcane Shielding propping up a shield any time I use Reassemble or Heal. Re: Favorite game breakers
wow, just found another that can make you invulnerable (in certain circumstances)
Thermal Leech (with Reach) + attacks + asynchronous LoS: Freezing enemies seems to reset their targets. Freeze an enemy around a corner, hit it with Charge Leech while it is frozen, then wait for them to come off of cooldown again. The enemy will never see or target you. EDIT: only works if the enemy is alone, due to target passing.

Re: Favorite game breakers
Activating items from your inventory is an easily exploitable bug. If you can get four weapons of Projection, it makes your fighter into an extremely effective ranged fighter, as it can use them every turn. Staves of Conveyance, Ruin, and Starfall are good as well. Not all items can be used form the inventory, and I haven't found a pattern. EDIT: items dropped from enemy inventories can be activated. May be fixed for b35.

Re: Favorite game breakers
Stacking Life Leech: Get Bloodcaller, than gain the curse as a mindslayer. Level up Cursed Touch and Vengeful Blessings. Get three weapons with the blessing of the blood drinker. By wearing all four items I was getting 36% chance of leeching 75% of my damage dealt (27% average) and healing for almost 100/turn at level 21. It did require sacrificing equipment, as at level 5 in both Cursed Touch and Vengeful Blessings there is only about a 1/20 chance a weapon will be a blood drinker.
EDIT: may work better with a dual-wielding Arcane Blade with the Aegis Tree.
EDIT 2: Weapons with Life Leech removed for b35.

Re: Favorite game breakers
Retch + Epidemic. Combine that with Bloodcaller, >150% healing mod, and Acid Blood, and you can practically just stand still to take out entire rooms.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).
Re: Favorite game breakers
5/5 Pity. 5/5 Suppression, Dark Figure at 1.72 mastery: 100% reduced duration on detrimental effects (other than "magical" ones), and enemies can only see you when they are one or two tiles away from you (93% of the time). This mastery can be reached through cursed equipment.
EDIT: Done. This character feels practically invulnerable. Taking over 200 of my 1100+HP damage in a battle before shielding or regen means I should rethink strategy.
EDIT 2: Much less useful in b35. You can no longer boost the mastery through cursed items. Finding an amulet of Mastery would still work for Suppression, though more things are "magical".

Re: Favorite game breakers
Here's one I stumbled upon.
Threads of fate + unique item from Urthol (rescued merchant): lots of fun trying to get just the right item.
Then imagine my delight when Urthol handed over a sling with zero speed.
I'll just let you think about that.

Threads of Fate + Unique Items from Urthol (rescued merchant) makes for some fun shopping. You can keep trying until you get something you like. It wasn't game breaking though...
... until Urthol handed over a zero speed sling. I'll just let you think about that.
(The chance of getting this: ridiculously low? It's not like I tried for a long time either, it just showed up!)
Apologies for double post - I thought the first one didn't work, but it was apparently just waiting for moderation.

Re: Favorite game breakers
Here's a quickie: Ice Storm or Inferno + Time Prison(self-cast) + Gift of the Highborn(optional).
Presto, all enemies are dead.
Wait, did someone already mention time prison?
Okay well, pity is kinda broken on doomed... that's been said too I see.
Well how about burning wake and elemental harmony?
Damn it you guys.

Re: Favorite game breakers
Movement Infusions for Global Speed: Pop a movement infusion, then swap weapons, manage inventory/equips etc, then attack an enemy (follow with attack rune if desired). This will take almost no time, so phase door away and repeat, giving the enemy no time to react to the attacks in melee (or ranged). Also abusable with Step Up and (maybe) the lightning body wyrmic talent. A simpler way is to have two low cooldown movement infusions, reach an enemy, pop the infusion, attack, pop the second, attack, then escape or attack a third time, all in about 1.2 game turns. Note that these attacks do not need to be bump attacks, they can be any talent use. For example, a rogue could do Movement Infusion -> Flurry -> Deadly Strikes -> attack rune -> movement infusion -> Venomous Strikes in about 1/5 of a turn, and be ready to act again. This would also be extremely powerful for stairscumming. May be fixed for b35.
EDIT: Attacking still takes a full turn, so the only parts of this that still work are inventory management and closing for instant abilities.
Side note: now I want to find a way to kill an enemy as a fighter with Step Up without breaking Wild Speed (maybe a well timed DoT effect?) to get 100x global speed for a turn (10x from movement infusion, 10x from Step up)
