AI pathfinding improvements

#1 Post by lukep »

Give all the AI a better concept of going around enemies and allies. Norgan does not walk around you if you are fighting an enemy diagonally (with him straight behind you), and escorts rush straight at the portal when they see it, even trying to go through enemies instead of around them. I'm not sure how common this is, and have only noticed it on allies.

This is VERY noticeable(at least for me) during the boss fight. I have to swap places with him if he's behind me, else he'll just stay there...

I am pretty sure escorts are intentionally pants on head retarded, but Norgan's ineptitude is a little infuriating considering how hard Brotoq is.

Yeah, it might be intentional for escorts, although they run straight at the portal when they see it (unless there is an enemy in line with it). Another place I noticed it was in the earlier Assassin Lair. The merchant would walk out, and enemies would attack him if he was in the way, even while they were targeting you.
