The Magic-based talents should use spellpower, and the Willpower-based talents might use mindpower. I'm not 100% sure about how the latter will play out, as there are so few mindpower items.

Does it mean it's useless now? I thought Force of Will powers do use spellpower, thus making staves useful.

The stuff in talents/cursed/force-of-will.lua all uses Willpower. There's even a local function at the top of the file that redefines the combatTalentDamage function to use Willpower instead of spellpower.

Oh. So, as i understand, what it means is that for all practical reasons Doomed can now wield any weapon he chooses for whatever general benefits it brings. Say Corpsebow for nice disease resist. Right?

Also - another Q to the original poster - was you able to defeat Subject Z with your char? And if so - how? I wonder if its even possible to do at the lvl 10 or so, when the yeek doomed is about to reach him.

I unlocked Mindslayers with a Yeek Doomed, and I didn't use the Rod of Recall trick to delay it, either. I was just lucky in that I was able to Willful-Strike him away from the Wayist before he could kill it.

I beat Z when I revisited the level at about level 30, saving the Wayist was easy when I was that far overleveled.

Oh. And any specific hint on how to prevent Z from doing the "shadowstep->(dazed)->flurry" combo? For me he seems to be doing that every single time i'm there, instakilling any yeeks of mine i have there, be it zerker, archmage or doomed.

There may have been a Movement infusion involved in getting me into Willful Strike range. I think there may also have been luck involved. Also, keep in mind that this was back when Shadowstep was more expensive, and the enemy AI wasn't as awesome.
