Reveal worldmap

The worldmap is static (mostly) unlike the dungeons that are generated procedurally. Personally, I feel the map should be fully revealed, since after the first time there is no sense of exploration anyway.

To grant some adventure to new players, I think this reveal should be handled like an achievement:

- Must have played the tutorial once
- Always reveal the West if player has reached a certain checkpoint on any character (unlock per profile, e.g. upon completing Dreadfell or Spellblaze or ...)

Same thing for the East (can't give any input on checkpoint since I've never gotten that far yet :oops: )

IMHO there's little reason to do this, as you'll soon figure out where everything is and no longer need it anyway, and there are of course the randomly placed dungeons
if it were to be implemented, good checkpoints could be (for the west) getting east, and (for the east) killing the prides/winning the game(i haven't gotten far in the east myself, so not sure about this)

Or a Lore map of Maj'Eyal that gives an unlock like this - perhaps in a particular region which all characters should pass through around lvl 15-20 or so? Or even just have it generate somewhere on the WM near the starting dungeon/similar? :)

Shouldn't be an east unlock since I've played at least 3 characters up to lvl 15-20 and not gone east yet. This unlock gets somewhat less useful (or less appropriate for it to elude the player) as the person plays more

Ah, different idea... How about having the WM map semi-interactive.. At least, have it invokable as a popup (m key on world map maybe?) which indicates areas not entered yet, and not found yet (but known to exist)... If I get time tomorrow (it's 2am now) I'll scribble up this concept in paint lol (okay maybe Gimp :p)

Idea: Two new achievements, one for finding all locations in the West, one for the East. Once you have these, using the Library in the fortress will reveal the full map for each.

Isn't the orb in the fortress a complete map of Maj'Eyal anyway?
