[b34] Burning Shock instakills

#1 Post by eronarn »

Burning Shock completely paralyzes targets rather than causing stun. This is very much not okay - I died to being unable to use wild infusions, etc. to remove it (it was duration >10 turns).

This is not a bug; it's intended to cause paralysis rather than stun, and yes, it's intended to be frighteningly powerful.

Possibly too powerful, yeah. But this doesn't belong in the bug section of the forums; the talent is working the way it's supposed to.

I absolutely disagree. The bugs section is for balance issues as well as unintended behaviors.

Yes! Thank you for posting this.
I made some suggestion about this in the idea forum

Flameshock is what it is because archmages are DG's pet class :3. He admitted to this himself. There is no other class that I know off that has the same paralyze attack.

The paralyze effect needs to be removed from flameshock and replaced with a fire damage DoT effect or, as mentioned, with a stun effect.
I think it would be very cool if flameshock caused a 1 square knockback, and a 2 turn stun.

If anyone wants to preserve an effect similar to flameshock, then it needs to be turned into an iceschock with a 1-turn freeze effect (so the player can still use powers affecting himself, like shields and heals).

It should be noted that eronarn was playing on Insane difficulty so whatever hit him with flame shock had twice the talent level someone would normally see in game (and this is why the duration was so long).

It should also be noted that stun immunity still applies, rank still reduce the duration of the paralyze effect, and that the player can temporarily 'fight off the stun' of paralyze just like they could before the stun change was implemented.
