[b33] No wrathroot

#1 Post by alphonse »

Easy difficulty dwarf fighter. Level 5 of the Old Forest was an enormous castle packed with trolls and thieves. Several rooms were inaccessible, including by teleport or digging. Wrathroot was nowhere to be found. The onward path led to the Lake of Nur.

Those rooms are accessible, actually, you've just got to dig in the right spots. No clue how megavaults interact with boss generation, though. You'd have to check through all the little rooms (careful, there's drakes in most of them) to be sure.

I've had that vault in OF5, and Wrathroot spawned outside it. My guess is that he either drowned (not sure if he can) or he's stuck on an easy-to-miss piece of terrain. He shouldn't be in the vault.
Sorry about all the parentheses (sometimes I like to clarify things).

Thanks for the prompt responses. Certain walls were indeed diggable in the mega-vault, and there were definitely drakes waiting to toast unsuspecting explorers. Probably put there to teach me not to whine in the bug forums whenever I'm stymied for more than five minutes. Wrathroot is still missing, however, and the Old Forest entry in my quest log is still gray rather than green. I don't know whether he drowned or just didn't spawn; my message log doesn't go back that far. As it stands, I'm going to have to give up this character and put in another several hours (!) to try to unlock more classes and races.

Argh.

Wrathroot is an optional boss, so although the bug is a nuisance it's not game-breaking. Carry on with your unlocks!
